@ Burning Spear,, I am not a member there but this is a C&P from their advert:

The question on everyones mind....

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?!

ELECTROTHERAPY

Custom made equipment is utilized during Electro-therapy treatments, pads are placed over specific parts of the body and they send "deep penetrating impulses into the muscle", causing them to contract and relax simulating natural muscle movements.

This activity speeds up the conversion of calories into heat, resulting in the breakdown of fat into energy, reduces fluid retention, detoxification of the body and a measurable inch and weight loss is achieved. The most popular, effective treatment takes only 30-60 minutes and clients receive three treatments per week over a four-week course. The average weight loss over a four-week course is between 6-18kg.

The EMS treatment can be beneficial to all muscles such as the stomach, abdomen, thighs, buttocks and arms that are easily exhausted in normal exercise. Sportsmen and women can also use this method to supplement their regular training to fully exhaust the muscles and maximise growth.

The EMS treatment has also shown to improve strength in conjunction with weight training; it also relieves the side effects that sportsmen experience following their regular workout for intense muscle spasm and fluid retention and also blocks out pain signals to the brain. The muscles become scarred and lose their elasticity and maximum force potential after exercise. Electronic muscle stimulation helps to prevent such adhesions from occurring as well as strengthening old scar tissue.

Electronic muscle stimulation simulates normal exercise and helps break down cellulite. Impulses are transmitted through the pads to the muscles causing them to flex and relax at a controlled and comfortable rate whilst reducing centimeters. The computer varies the output speed and stimulation combination once every minute and follows a set programme until treatment is fully complete.

Personally,I would not recommend someone to those people.
the only easy and safe way to reduce weight is ;

1. Diet
2. Exercise

Don't go the electronic way.The fast you shed more of your weight (electronically as they put it ),the more you stand a chance to gain more once you stop those electronic....

@Wendz, they start by putting you on a diet which is a bit hard to adhere to.The sessions normally last for about an hour. They wrap your whole body with mineral care mud mask and you do light exrcises. This is supposed to remove toxins for your body, especially the water which the body retains...it comes out through the feet.

They also have those machines for 'melting' the fat and another one for tightening the body after the weight loss. That time, they were charging 40k for the whole exs, though i was charged 20k coz i didn't need to loose much.

Ah, and it didnt work? Where is the "melted fat" supposed to come out ama inabaki pale pale but in liquid form? Si my bill will run into laki kadhaa?

@ BS hii ni gani ya Kanene cos she looks like she needs to eat something Sad - atleast when i saw her just before she left KTN.

Its a programme she is working on and will start airing this week where she will be bringing some women weighing 90+ even 104 kg and monitor them over a period through exercise and diet till they shed some kilos.

I think it will be important for us to watch considering that weight issues affects all of us !![/quote]

@wendz, hahahahaaa...it didn't work, maybe because i had nothing to loose n i also gave up very quickly.i met some women there who seemed very happy with the progress though.

Out of it i learnt that the only way to loose weight is by watching what we eat and exercising consistently to make sure that the calories in are less than calories out.

There could be another drug-free method of weight loss... But this one needs someone with a very strong stomach. And a few coins.

@Kyt - I love icecream now and then, i do pizza when i can, chips like once in two months or so... some of these things are sweet.... exercise is kaput! I have tried leaving the car so that i can walk from the "farthest" bus stop but i find myself taking another mat to the nearest bus stop... sasa mimi itasaidika kweli? NKT!

Mashida ya kujitakia.

If i skip lunch for five consecutive days i lose weight.
My BMI is 22. I rarely have junk food, no icecream,no soda, walk a lot and every now and then i swim.

I think those who are trying to lose weight can start off by taking in less in the morning, skiping lunch and just have fruit salad and taking a very light dinner ,mostly vegies. To fill the stomach, maji kwa wingi or watery soup like the Oreantals.

Otherwise i don't get it when people insist on eating everything and expecting to lose weight.

Thank you! I always see ladies in the office eating upto 5 boiled eggs in the morning then later in the day they seat and complain about their weight and exchange stupid ideas like 'kunywa maji moto after kukula chakula, itachoma mafuta'. and no one wants to work out or reduce food consumption. NKT! Ni vile umesema mashida za kujitakia

I have never struggled with reducing weight more like maintaining a certain number of KGs.
However i have been hospitalized twice for those conditions that leave your appetite intact, the most recent one taught me something about weight, of course fearing i will add weight while in hospital, i opted for the small and medium portions of food at Nairobi Hospital. They would serve Breakfast at about 8-9am, i opted for cereals, an egg or a sausage, not both, no bread, oat or wimbi porridge, then yorghurt, lunch will be at 12-1pm i would opt for a vegetarian soup, portion of cabs like mashed potatoes some protein say fish or chicken and some fruit salad and a similar portion for supper, in between they would serve fresh juice or tea, i always opted for juice.
I love the java pork chops and i have always finished the whole portion plus the spicy chips and salad and a large juice, now i have to wear a medical corset, meaning my stomach is tied and much as it is uncomfortable, i cannot finish my favorite meal at java, been there once a week in the last three weeks and i have had to carry half of the food and went for the regular size juice.

In those three weeks the same thing happened even at home and i cannot finish my normal portions of food, i have lost three KGs which am not happy about but i guess if you reduced the portions that you eat you might be lucky, eat frequently but in small portions or get a corset, they have one for men too.

My dear, this one needs a VERY strong stomach. Someone whose willing to do the extra-ordinary. It all has to do with a song I keep singing here, internal flora.

It also can be extremely cheap or extremely expensive. If interested, hit my email.

Meals should never be skipped! Especially Breakfast, the most important meal of the day.

Fruit salads are another bad idea. Fruits are either acidic or alkaline. Combining some fruits cancel out their benefits to the body. Have a fruit at a time.

Having a light meal and/or starvation might work against you. It automatically sends a message to the body that you are going into starvation mode. What that does is prompt the body into storing fat, for when you'll need it. You starve yourself and gain weight!!!Sad
