One thing I know i that kenyans are very loving and kind on individual capacities.The problem comes when you are dealing with masses.. mass hysteria takes a good lot of their self control.....

Whichever way you look at it,Odm Mps should not have boycotted the funeral,especially now, when the nation is slowly but surely coming to terms without what happened.
Their action or lack thereof sent a very negative message.
Lame excuses that they were not made aware in good time simply doesnt wash.
I thought the time for blatant lies and sheer propanda ended with the elections.

With that off my chest,I am not aware there was an organised funeral for PEV victims perceived to be ODM sympathisers that PNU Mps skipped.
If so,then they equally stand accussed. Remind me though.

Things arent always the way they look like

It seems we are focusing and largely divided on symptoms of a disease as opposed to addressing the root causes.

In the shady school I attended,I was taught that issues of identity (ethnic or religious) have little to do with personal interests or quest for power. The core item is equal recognition and dignity. In attempting to address our ethnic differences,we have largely focused on distribution of power and meeting individual or group interests without showing recognition and dignity to other groups.

MK attending the burial was a personal interest gesture and not dignity to the dead or recognizing the core of the problem. Similarly RAO and his team skipping it represents different interest and message that they too have dignity,and deserve recognition.

Now,on politicians... we cant avoid them. they are here to stay and are a determinant force on our governance structure. By the way a politician visiting once a month to preach hatred is more listened to than a priest who is there on a weekly basis to preach the Good. We are unfortunate that the system guarantees bad leaders,even if we plan for the good. The locals skipping a burial were answering a call from their leaders over the quest for recognition and dignity...whether it is interpreted to mean following a particular MPig down a wrong path is a different issue.

Way forward: If we cant split Kenya into small tribal units claiming state sovereignty,then we must cultivate dignity and recognition of all Kenyans. If you look at how we interact - Leadership,civil service,business,suburbs,pubs etc... Dignity and recognition are more demanded than given.


Slack and sleeping senses must be addressed with thunder and heavenly fireworks.
