Little did I know that, by doing my job, I was inadvertently upsetting the apple cart and stepping on some rather huge toes, many toes by the way.
Boss, ile kivumbi nilionyeshwa, is a story for another day. I came face-to-face with corruption proper and all sorts of obstacles, snares, etc were hurled my way, including a good amount of character assassination that bordered on defamation.
Eventually, I had a long, difficult meeting with myself and I took the difficult decision to take a walk. It was the only way I was going to have peace of mind. My colleague, in another county (province at the time), same department who had tried to resist the cartels ultimately met his death in as yet unclear circumstances. The only things stolen from him were the documents which he was handling at the time. Rightly put trying to fight the system will definetly make you meet extreme resistance you will live in frustration each and every working day, your life will be a mess this thing is bigger than all of us...how many would be able to stand against the Biwotts,Kulei,s,Moi,s etc most of us cant, this are the same people who pull the strings almost everywhere you turn...We have put on paper proper, well functioning systems that if followed to the letter would rarely bring descrepancies and issues but how many times are they followed to the letter?corners are usually cut everyday and this hurts the country... possunt quia posse videntur

In Govt, You cannot change the system, the system changes you.
This Shollei Lady thought the "truth shall set her free". It wont. She should just shut up and disapper like many more before her.
For you to bring in meaningful and longterm reforms in Govt, you've got to be a "Michuki". He/she who fears nobody, not intrested in nonsense and has a will of steel.
Not many can match up

As long as we have this mentality around GoK jobs, this problem will not go away. Ditto. Hire and fire, for incompetence, corruption etc. A Kenyan will think twice about applying for post if his intentions are not right, will think twice about sleeping on the job. In any case there is legal re-dress for wrongful terminations. Nobody should be indispensable and untouchable in new Kenya. Pastor hapo i beg to differ, We cannot go hiring and firing people..., we have to seek the root cause and seal the loop holes. We also need to have tougher consequences. we need to soul search and ask ourselves what is wrong with our people? do we lack a work ethic? Elsewhere public servants are honest people delivering services in a professional manner without resorting to scandals and thieving schemes. Indeed there are examples of public corporations and departments within the civil service where you go and get services professionally without any hassles. yet there are places that are rotten we need to separate the chaff from the grains. As aggrieved Kenyans, Why are we not making use of the Ombudsman to shame these nonperforming public servants. We now have Social media, twitter blogs, facebook etc I refuse to accept that we cant change our public service ? How do we correct the current culture? not by firing the heads in the manner that Kazungu kambis and JSC are doing it? Professional will steer clear of the civil service and we shall be left with mediocrity Even in cases where the public sector has gone to seek talent from private sector, under the pretext that the private sector has 'better' managers most of them have not performed any better indeed some of the grandest schemes of thievery were hatched by some of these fellas and i can mention a few names... On the flipside there are scandals in the private sector only that they are not highlighted eg at Safaricom, BAT., EABL etc ' CORRECTIVE ACTION:
like in Shollei's example if indeed some of those cases being mentioned happened, we need to fire everybody who appended their signature and made recommendations na iwe funzo kwa other civil servants / public officerstheir names need to be publicly shamed and circulated widely so that they are blacklisted from any employment elsewhere freeze their accounts and cease assets Checks and balances need to be put in place to ensure professionals do their work without fear of external intimidation. yet we also need to put the fear of God into them. I hope Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto are listening. "😖😡KQ makes money for everyone except the shareholder 😏😏 " overheard in Wazua

Not many can match up kenya needs a dictator like kagame, anyoroshe watu proper - michuki was the perfect example of leaderhip needed in kenya especially during his stint at the transport docket.

The Lord has not given me a spirit of fear!!!! Evil should not prevail over good, if it means loosing your life for it, so be it! But like all things, there is need for wisdom. Jesus didn't just change things radically, it was gradual. As a child he had knowledge and wisdom, he engaged learned follows in discussions for which they were astounded. But he waited to grow up, was gradual, led by example. I'll give you an example... what happens to new Wazuans? They are 'welcomed' by @Mahegoat. Any change they try to effect is met with serious resistance. But like with all things in life, resilience, persistence, determination. Change is inevitable... Will you be the change? When I joined Wazua, I can't remember a thread on scripture. Now we even share hymns Has there been resistance? Oh yes! Character assassinations? That one I know first hand

Not many can match up So do we clone Michuki pun intended we have several examples of people who have brought meaningful chanes in gava you only need to look around The NGO types have not cut it. There is impunity in public service look at what all the so called reformers did in gava since 2003 people became overnight multi millionaires and some billionaires. Anybody remembers the Leakey Otieno Oduor Dream team? This is the culture we need to strategize and fight tge eating culture but while at it let us do it properly "😖😡KQ makes money for everyone except the shareholder 😏😏 " overheard in Wazua
