In the attack at westgate thread,we were castigated for saying that the military messed up the operation. Now we've been vindicated. But I have no joy in saying this because my country is now being shamed publicly.

At that time, I also mentioned something that was worrying me: Gen. Karangi seemed to be giving directions to the cabinet secretaries. The military should never be in a position to push the executive arm of government around. I'm surprised that few in the media have thought it necessary to follow up this angle as it highlights a dangerous trend.

Let me give my opinion. In Moha's Jicho Pevu, it was reported that there is bad blood between the police and the military. The police ended up leaking the cctv videos of army men looting to the media as retribution for what the soldiers did.

So now, the soldiers will want to take revenge for being shamed. Their pride has been wounded and they will be seeking to do something spectacular just to get even. Something that will show everyone that they have the biggest d**ks in the school compound. Because that's how they're conditioned to think. Superiority over civilians and police.

At this point, they know that the Executive is vulnerable as a result of the ICC cases, VAT Bill, insecurity etc.

If I were the president, I would mercilessly get rid of the military top brass and get new faces in. None of the incumbents can be trusted. Hata kama ní andu a nyúmba. If they could shamelessly lie to Prezzy that five terrorists had been killed and that they were mopping up Westgate, what else are they capable of?

I'm praying that UMK will be brave enough to act.

You were on point up to where you couldn't resist putting on very dark tribal goggles. There are three generals lined up to take up after Karangi, thus Joff Otieno (AF),
Kiptoo Kasaon (Army) and Ngewa Mukala (Navy). If now you invoke the Tonje rules,i think it is the Navy's time and therefore this one, automatically goes to Mukala.....Sasa nyef nyef na pang'ang'a ya nyuba inatokea wapi?Sad

This is a dark time if our media is going to run our country. There has been a trend of late where executive react. Meaning no action on something takes place until it sensationally appears on the news; then heads begin to roll. ie NSIS info on the terrorists, JSC

One might say atleast something is being done, but public wars? Our reputations? Blackmail by media,cover-ups? media bribery? It doesn't help that ICC is being fought media-wise. A new culture we are embracing?

Did every KDF involved in the operation loot? Let our media houses be responsible enough to air balanced news. Few rotten apples should not make us condemn KDF enmasse.

@Wakanyugi is right. What we have here is the defining moment of the Uhuru gov't

Mr. Tyranny is right, it is very worrying when the Millitary tells the executive what to do and say. Coups are never far off in such instances.

@Njunge is right. Remove any tribal or political goggles you have because what we just saw has nothing to do with that but is some crazy shit

@Mukiri is right. The media has been complicit in this whole cock up of a gov't. I have said it before, the media in Kenya is made up of social media whores. Copy pasting, not thinking, not investigating, just yapping what Ole Itumbi says as gospel truth.

There was a tweet from HMS where they said that they had changed their uniform to army uniform

I have every reason to believe that that is exactly what happened.

Everyone in that building after the recce squad left was too relaxed to be in any sort of fire fight. Too f***ing relaxed. Prayer, shopping, having a drink.

The house was probably brought down by some drunk kdf looter who missed his target.

We were conned people.

@Sheri, I agree with you.

All KDFs who were at Westgate need to be investigated! Looting is a serious crime under the KDF Act! Anyone found guilty- court martial pap!

But I bow my head in shame!

If you don't remove rotten tomatoes from your basket, chances are extremely high that the others will be rotten too when you wake up.

sheri, I hear you. i guess you suppose that those involved in the operation but did not loot need to come out and tell on their squad members?

The bottomline is we saw KDF personnel shopping without paying.
