Ms Boss knows that her career in the Kenya Judiciary is cooked. You never condemn your employer's unwarranted pay and allowances unless your goose is cooked. They should be very afraid of her and I'm sure they are.

If you follow the story of successful entrepreneurs what matters is the idea and drive to succeed. Case in point is Suraya Group who had the idea to build homes for the expanding middle class. In some instances they did not have the land or the finance but where able to succeed by bringing it all together. As long as the boss had access to financing, had the mall idea or land in a strategic location, he can comfortably build a mall which will pay itself maybe in 10 or 20 years while earning a 500K salary. Suraya were never employed by govt. Tell me a private sector CEO who has a multibillion estate. Wachana na CEO's who started their own companies, Mwangi and the likes. I'm talking of Oduor Otieno, Adan Mohamed na kadhalika. Kwanza huyo wa National Housing ni conflict of interest just like our cops.

Issue is, he has a FULLTIME job as a govt MD earning 0.5m yet he is putting up a mall worth 1.6B. How now? Had he resigned like 5years ago and built his dynasty over that time, it would have been a little bit understandable. In this case, it is not.

This 'eating' in govt could be one source of the crazy demand we have for real estate. This money will usually not be catered for in monthly budget. You can then use it for other uses like buying plots at whatever price or take a holiday. I know a parastatal where the office is never full. Trips out of office and out of country kukulia per diem. 8-15k per day. All expenses catered ie meals accomo etc. Halafu unaskia jamaa wako out for 2 months sijui training sijui exchange prog with similar organisations!
