I advice caution when buying land from kajiado county and also narok county.

most of these by-laws are passed by the county assembly in just heard that the main issue is the fear that the maasai community may end up selling all their land without a clear picture of what the money is intended for but due to sweet talking buyers and peer influence with juicy prices being offered.

for instance, they are stories of guys selling land to ride in a prado/ land cruiser or a car of one's dreams.

in this cases, land becomes the easiest source of mbeca coz you may need to sell all the cows - or majority of the cows!

In narok for instance, it is now difficult to buy land as a group or transfer of big pieces of land will not just sail through - it may take ages and give you a loss of your money or unintended losses - this is why the caveat emptor is given

beware!!

Is there any Wazuan who has transacted land in Kajiado recently? How is the situation like after of the suspension notice from the Kajiado County government?

Seems the county government is determined to enforce the suspension

Kajiado county government turns up the heat on errant land officials

Its business as usual...I said before you cannot apply such a blanket suspension and any constitutional court will overturn that decision without butting an eye lid....

@Maka, thanks. Is there any involvement of the county government in the land transfer process under the current constitutional dispensation? I ask because I feel they may apply underhand tactics to frustrate and sabotage the transfer process to make a point

@timuka, i think the land office at the county level is part of the devolved functions as the officers are the same ones who used to work there as it is business as usual in terms of consent and transfers. BTW land offices are cash cows and no one would like them non-functional as it would reduce cashflows. Both the workers and elected officials and their supporters generate a lot of cash in the lands office.
