Njunge, calling a grown man 'son' is very condescending and patronizing to say the least.

@the rest of you

The problem with Kenyans is too much group think, hakuna independent thinking. Take this thread as an example,I come out and say this politicization of PEV funeral by Nation reeks of hypocricy and just fuels hatred, instead of condemning Nation, they all pile on me. It is like it has become fashinable here to bash me regardless of what I say or whether they agree with it or not.

For once Kenyans, think for yourself lest you will always fall for tribal shenanigas, pyramid schemes etc.

Hey guys,wacheni siasa.

If what i am reading is comming from your convictions, then we need bouncers at Kingfisher's mbuzi.

Or else lets have a day when we go to the field, remove our shirts and fight the whole day.

May be after that we will have some respect for each other.

You do not go for the funeral of someone who everyone knows you murdered.

I agree. I'm tired of this tribal hatred. It's too draining and so pre 2007. Guys don't get drawn into this

That explains why Kiguoya never went to the funerals of the other PEV victims in Western,Nyanza,R Valley(except Kikuyus) and Coast.

@ jalogf,It's not preaching hate. The absence of war is not always peace.
This country has deep issues which instead of addressing people are hoping they can be ignored to oblivion. We tried it before and it never worked. Please don't tell me that after the mass funeral now it's peace as usual. Do you even see a glimmer of hope for the bereaved that one day they will get justice? What do you think will happen in 2012 if we leave things the way they are? Like Rwanda we need a Gachacha. Preaching peace is will just suppress emotions for later.

I agree with you that for the same reasons Kibs could not attend those funerals.
But doesn't that just show you that all is not well? This country is not at peace.

The absence of war is not always peace but its better than war. We have only two options; to go to war or to preach peace. I guess the latter is better.

Even the locals missed the funeral, very sad. Obviously there are still very deep seated issues at the ground level.

I don't want to politicise this issue but guyz what is the way forward for our country. How do we get around all this barriers to the peacefull co-existence we used to have.

What was the point of MK making this a state funeral then failing to ensure that ODM were part of the process,if anything he has made the the situation worse.

It was disheartening that all IS minister could say was that they now had more police stations, why not try and reach out to the other side.

I guess if you can't win with facts, you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone.

Guys Mlefu is a mess, pray for him ... did attendance or absence add any plate(money) in your kitchen?

I mean fundamental analysis, you get me?

TB and co. because you seem to be the flag bearer for all things tribal.

Doesn't it get tiring when you wake up and everything that comes from your mouth is about kyuks?

Doesn't it get tiring when all you see is evil in human beings?

Doesn't it get tiring trying to convert others to a religion that they aren't willing to follow?

TB,you are not special. You are just boring and irritating.

It is 2009 going on 2010,some of us have better things to do than talk about negativity. There is a life out there that is good and wonderful and I think most of the people at sk are searching for it. You unfortunately want us to HATE.

If you have an issue with kikuyus,I suggest you go speak to those who think that they talk for the kikuyus. I doubt if you will find anyone here. I for one do not speak for my culture so I don't expect those with kikuyu blood here to vouch for them either.

If you wish to talk about the issues that afflict our country, please do so but do not try and fool us that you are honest, unbiased and have any shade of objectivity in your bones.

@mtaalam,I guess you want us to preach hate instead. Who do you want me to hate now? Kikuyus, luo's,kalenjins,HIV positive,women,gays,....name one.

If the two of you are stupid enough not to realise that you are being lied to by your politicians, then that is on your own plate, don't bug us with it. If the two of you are shallow enough to think that life is about who is walking on a carpet and peeing in a good toilet, don't bore us with it.

Kenya has big problems. The solution is not hating and using demagogary.

I will disappoint you to tell you that even if you had an all Luo cabinet or all Kalenjin cabinet, with all members of the civil service card holding members of ODM,you will still be a shallow man.

Yesterday was a very solemn affair. People died for being nothing other than being peasants who could not protect themselves. Poor people are still dying, because they are too poor to feed their families.

Somehow,in your wisdom, that it is time to add politics even in their funerals. I pity you. I will be praying for your soul as you need more than a hug.

Get a life!

I have hope in my country as I believe it is the best country in the world. We work hard for what we get. We have survived inspite of our politicians. We will do better inspite of TB like humans. Kenya is beautiful and I suggest that everytime TB and his simplitons write something negative, let us give our neighbour a hug.

good way of thinking. @Obi Good questions...... We cant bury our head that all is fine in our country. There are issues and major issues to be address. but i believe it starts with individuals. Individuals like me and you. Now,can we start it from here,SK. Charity begins at home. All this tribal hatred is actually in our perception. Let a kikuyu here say, very honestly,if there is a luo who on a personal level, treated him badly just because he is a kikuyu or a luo who was actually discriminated by a kikuyu he knows just because he is a luo(of course except the hate posts flying around... well, those are people you dont even know). Personally,i have never experienced it on a personal level- infact, majority of my true friends are from other communities - somalis, kisiis, luhyas (majority),luos, kalenjins and many more. If you look at your personal friends from other communities you will realise that you have (at times) a closer bond than people from your own community - now thats what we need to generalise to the rest of your friends community. If i think i have this great luhya friend isnt it obvious that he/she is not the only one of a kind in the whole of luhya comminity and therefore it follows that there are many more like him/her and the generalisation that all luhyas are like this and that doesnt hold water? why do we like generalising just he bad things and leave out the good things of a particular community?

I wonder what we gain by so much tribal hatred that we just cant let it go................. Can we try to live what we preach in SK - to make a difference and live above this petty tribal hatred.

Reconciliation is the only way...I know the next thing you will hear from the leaders as we small people fight is that 'this coalition is united' 'we will work together'

What yo have is a cease fire, not peace. We need to address our deep seating issues. Honestly are you at peace?
How can you be when there's no justice in the country?
Justice/law is supposed to be the equalizer btwn all men but has failed the poor especially.

Imagine a country where the poor outnumber the middle-class - forget the rich - and then it go out of it's way to steal from them and suppress them....
Now imagine there is a revolution and the majority take over...
Can you now see how Amins and Stalins are formed?

So long as we have ostrich-head-in-sand mentality of akina nanfor,Kenya will just get from bad to worse. These elites just want to pretend that all is good and Kenyans will just forgive and forget when their leaders keep shafting them everyday.

The only way is to confront our issues head on. Lets have a honest talk about tribalism, nepotism, past grievances etc. Sweeping these issues under the carpet and singing 'kumbaya my lord' will not make them go away.
