Ummmh what would be the basis for arresting him?reminds me of the other suspected terrorist who was at AKUH,but soldiers came picked him up took him to memorial forces hospital at mbagathi the family hired an advocate,a day later the AG says the state has the bugger...who ultimately was released,if the law is followed this guys will never be jailed...

Hear me on this one!!! I know the family of this guy, through my wife. He's a Muslim Kyuk and he happens to be dropping somebody at Westgate, and immediately as he turned back to leave, he was called and told about the attacks of which he turned back, he managed to get to the entrance with the confusion and people getting out, he was trying to locate the person he had dropped.

And because he had kanzu and big beard, the police arrested him mistaking him for criminal. The poor wife, who has his one child, made several trips to hospitals and mortuaries. Several people who know him and his employer must have convinced the authorities.

I can say with confidence that this guy was mistaken identity!!

Ali Kiai Yahya Gitonga...he,l sue I believe @ sm point after the nitty gritty is over...Habeas corpus worked in his favour this time round...

This is by far the most detailed account of what happened.

I have to say, we have leaders we can emulate.

I dont think so..
He gets the timings wrong.. especially when the RECCE squad came in. must have been earlier than four..

and they should have known who responded first, local police.. then flying squad, then Recce then military..commandos from Israel and UK

Not detailed... but has entire plot somehow in there

Dont waste your energy, @alma would rather believe some journalist who has pieced up the story from his cubical in London, than that black journo on the ground collecting news and information from Njoro the guy who happened to be in the mall.

Thank you @maka. It is good to know his other name i.e. Gitonga. He's a good person, earning his living legally, a family man, with a very young family, a wife and one bay young baby. The wife was so divastated when she received the news and first couldn't be told where he was taken.
I'm not from same tribe as him, but you can see my genuine concern smile

Westgate Mall terror attack suspect surrenders, released after probe
Quote:
A former police officer thought to have participated in the Westgate Mall terror attack has surrendered to police to deny the accusations.

Mohamed Hussein, who was a former General Service Unit (GSU) officer and bodyguard to a High Court Judge surrendered to Wajir police CID boss Monday morning saying he never took part in the attack.

Quote:
Nairobi head of CID Nicholas Kamwende who is among the team of detectives investigating the attack said they had confirmed the former GSU officer is alive and did not participate in the attack.

Quote:
He added they are yet to get key suspects in the attack.
Live and learn; and don’t forget, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Kwa nini tunatapatapa namna hii? Are we that incompetent even to check facts before we open our mouths? Did these investigators get in touch with family members (information on next of kin must be available since he is a former police officer. I wonder!
