If I was UK, I would not fight for the case to be put off, especially if I was sure I am not guilty as he always tells us. I would fight for a compromise where I am allowed NOT TO BE PHYSICALLY PRESENT as the case is heard as my lawyers do it. The lawyers would do their work as he does his work here at home. This would give him a chance to clear his name.

Postponing the case, even if for ever, denies him an opportunity to proof what he stands for: That the court "has been lying all through". Even if he postpones it till he dies, he will go down the grave with one ugly tag on his coffin, A SUSPECT OF CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY. That is not a tag one would wish to live with even for one more year if he has an opportunity to clear his name. When he was very addressing a crowd at Kiambu, he said all he wanted was the case to be staggered in such a way that One of them will be available to govern, a request that was granted. Ok, now that it appears that he actually doesnt want to appear, and moreso now that he seems to be able to convince AU to his side, he should use the same charm to ensure the case is concluded in his first term. Even if he rules for 10 years, if the case will have to continue in his retirement, that is a wierd way of retiring. That is just postponing misery.

And postponing will only translate into giving Bensouda more time to learn from the current ongoing case and firm her arsenals for UKs case.

I started by saying, If I was UK, sadly, or gladly, I am not...Let the movie continue.

Washiku you should become their spin doctor because the current lot is so verbose to the point they choose Matsanga to be their spokesperson.

I would humbly ask that this team go read the book http://www.amazon.co.uk/...nce-Price/dp/0340898224

I would also advice that they write a letter to James Carvile or go to a cyber and download the movie The War Room

These two should help them understand how to spin a story without lying so blatantly in public.

The AU is going to be asking the security council that they must.....xxxx You have to be kidding me.

If you read the real reason why this circus failed in Ethiopia, you know they are wasting more valuable time for Kenya and the President.

http://www.africareview....ndex.html?relative=true

Now if they couldn't convince Cote d'voire, imagine they refused and we support Drogba, how in God's name are they going to convince France, USA etc at the security council?

Let's not waste Kenyans time with useless motions. Matsanga is enough of comedy relief in Kenya at the moment. I can just see Museveni laughing, "walifukusa jaruo wakaleta Matsanga....Mume hesabu ngombe zangu?"

The president needs better people around him as the current crop is performing below par. Luckily for him he has excellent lawyers. I want him to beat this thing but the direction he's going....Al Bashir will be a joke when those mzungus are through with him.

@Washiku, that is exactly what he has done!!

This legal submission was made weeks back. But guess what, the court has decided to rule on this when it feels like with the Nov date looming for the Head Of State (context to this happening is the court responding to Gladwell Otieno ASAP on the Westgate attack). The traps have been set. As of now, President Kenyatta has been cooperating and using legal tools to make his case.

The AU has asked UK not to go until the ICC judges rule on this. The political pressure will work. The declining Anglo-American power rates security higher than the ICC issue. Watch it unfold.

The West and ICC also needs to save face. There is no provision under Rome Statute for cases to be heard in absentia. That could in fact set some very bad precedent. However, UN can defer cases for one year, and this is the only available option – as long as Prosecutor does not withdraw on own volition. If UN can defer now, they will keep deferring every year until Uhuruto term is over - after 10 years for Uhuru and 20 for Ruto. During that time (it could be sooner), witnesses will have grown weary, and the cases will die a natural death

I totally agree.
It would be wise for UK to appear, otherwise he'll continue carrying the suspect tag even if Un defers the case.
I think he'll make the right decision as he isn't stupid.
