The numbers are as such:
>>>>>>>>>>>>> EPS PE
CFC Bank 9.9 : 8.081
HFCK 3.22 : 8.23
Coop Bank 1.84 : 9.239
NIC 6.03 : 9.619
DTB 17.44 : 10.378
BBK 1.61 : 10.963
Equity Bank 3.26 : 11.426
StanChart 26.1 : 11.686
KCB 4.11 : 12.105
NBK 1.49 : 13.758

Mean PE 10.549
I&M figures missing

Assuming flat earnings and an averaged PE of 10.549 the prices would be:

NIC 63.61
DTB 183.97
BBK 16.98

KCB 43.36
NBK 15.72

@PesaNane

I&M Bank/Group (not Holdings) for 2013

Q1 PAT (not Comprehensive) 938,811,000
Q2 PAT (not Comprehensive) 2,177,940,000

There was a huge loss in Mauritius in Q1 2013 relating to losses on derivatives. At the Investor Briefing, the EO said it was all provided for & losses were stemmed.

1H 2013 EPS is approx 6/- and if Q2 performance continues then FY 2013 EPS should be between 12-14.

Gut feeling on what to buy. COOP at ksh 17.15
MSC at ksh 3.70 and KK at Ksh. 8.50
Caution No research has been conducted.
Now explaining the Gut feeling.
COOP had a good 2013 Q1 but I don't know how good
KK I guess the bad news are out of stock.
MSC even crap does float when it floods and I guess the market is flooded with buyers

I have some idle "millions" (or ain't 0.8M/-, millions), so, for this 3rd Quarter, what can i buy?

p.s I don't fear fast money
p.s.s i can wait 2 years for the big gain
p.p.s.s it MUST be stocks, not bonds nor whatevers

Kenya: BAMBi, CFC-Stanbic, Scan.

Uganda: UCL*

Tanzania: CRDB

Rwanda: BK

Consider Nigeria, Malawi, Zambia (our currency offers purchasing power in all these markets- watch conversion losses though, have to be smart on those)
Choose just one market.

NB: I may have ''over-answered'' your question.
NBB: My approach is based on underlying businesses, not the prices.

Sad Why store new wine in old skins??? You ought to have started a new thread than visiting a year back thread.
Anyway you have headroom in Britam, Sameer, BBK, COOP, carbacid and NSE that are well priced for now and promising
Another parked stock is KK, I won't tell when it will fly but you can allocate it 200 Thousands.

Since I posted this, stock is up 130%. Sometimes, it does make sense to put all your eggs in one basket and watch it like a hawk.

Safaricom Debt Free story.

Anyone that buy Safcom now and wait 3 to 4 years will have a handsome reward (handsome dividend and capital gains). No wonder the high demand for this super brand blue chip.

21M shares exchanged from May 16th with volume spike at 7,7.2 and 7.5

Breakout above 7

Target at 8.5 (i.e Breakout point=7 minus Lowest point=5 * 0.75)

As expected the peer is doing the chase after confirming support at 6.5 (12M shares exchanged from May 16th).watch KPLC price/volume behaviour above 7

what was special on may 16th..Volume spikes??
