Belgium, Germany & Switzerland all have a 5 point lead in their respective groups with two games left so i think it would be safe to say they are as good as through or they need just a point to qualify for the WC. France will definitely be in the play-offs, i think Portugal will also have to settle for a place in the play-offs because i don't think group leaders Russia will drop any points in their next two fixtures against Luxembourg and Azberijan.

As for England well you can never be certain about anything, they face Montenegro and Poland next at Wembley in what might look like easy fixtures on paper but there's a possibility they might even fail to qualify for the WC. The difference between 1st and 4th position in that group is just 3 points, England is on 16 pts while the other two (Ukraine & Montenegro) are on 15 pts....

As for the African qualifiers i'm fully behind Ethiopia, i think they have what it takes to beat Nigeria. In the other fixtures i hope Burkina Faso, Senegal, Cameroon and Egypt make it through...always nice to see newcomers in the WC.

Croatia host Belgium on Friday and win will reduce the lead to just 2 pts going into the last match so anything is still possible in this group.

In Africa I'm torn between fellow East Africans Ethiopia and the Super Eagles that I have always supported......the Arab country that may qualify is Algeria, oterwise I expect Invory Coast, Ghana and Camerooun to come through!!!

Nigeria would burn if Ethiopia silenced their big mouths.....I would make merry on that!

Return leg in Nigeria. If they lose the away match expect crazy things in the return leg.

Belgique have so many good players that Divock Origi may end up opting for Kenya.

Comical goal by Ethiopia. Ethiopia lead Naija 1:0.

I hear Ethiopia are playing the the Spanish of Africa but their inexperience showed as they failed to convert their chances and lost narrowly to Nigeria.

The play offs will claim some big names, whether European or African e.g. Ghana/Ethiopia. Portugal also better hope for a favourable draw, they've been playing shit

Egypt Vs Ghana will for sure be a very tricky affainr though I still think it's Algeria who will represent the African Arabs at the 2014 WC!!!!!

Naija must have influence at CAF. They were given an easy group and now an easier playoff opponent. And in 2009, the referee blantantly favored them in their last game against Kenya, letting them score two offside goals.

@ Smano.... Ethiopia's passing was quite impressive, IMO that's the best display i've seen from an African team. What failed them was their finishing, they wasted so many good opportunities infront of goal which proved costly in the end. As for Nigeria, well they will be in Brazil but sioni kama wataenda mbali....their game is so slow and they no longer have any playmakers kama Okocha.

ION.....Dstv camera man had a hard time concentrating on the Ethiopia/Nigeria match, his camera kept shifting to the stands....
