Kengen and KPLC have agreed on a fixed Tariff of 2.42 shillings for each unit of yield

The tariff will be valid for 20 years as a hybrid power purchase agreement

The agreement is expected to allocate risks to help take the edge off any unforeseeable catastrophe

A 25 billion bond is planned

KenGen is a star buy if at less than 14 shillings

Second Public Offer for this company is coming late next year

Target is government wants to offload at 25 shillings

Either be in the bus and enjoy the ride

Or watch as the bus leaves for good.

Stay young, keep your wheels in motion.

@pretty,so we should wait for the shares to go down and buy?

What do you call warnings which are positive

I had no other word for the same

So this is not supposed to be a negative warning

But a positive warning

Heard my dad use the same language

Hope he is not reading this

But if you give me a better word

I will be back to him with the proper term

LOL. @Pretty - you make my day young lady. A confusing term it is by the way... A profit warning means that the company expects to record a decline in profitability...

If you are as young as you claim to be (and I am beginning to believe it),you could be on the right track. Your inquisitiveness and eagerness to learn (and earn!) is great...enedelea vivyo hivyo and your future may not be looking too bad.

The topic definately raises attention to check & its nice .

Kengen has always been a star stock & its book value is at Ksh.31.00 & all this time it was always trading at a huge discount & still trading at a huge discount unless we see the stock trades in multiples to book value .

The biggest drawback was always retailers who has been owning this stock & thanks that they have now sold off in bits & bits to secure school fees & other domestic expenditure .

The present news gives an oppurtunity for a bull run for kengen stock,Choice is yours, own it or loose it .

Iam definately in the bus to take huge posistions now since the bottom had hit when it was trading at 9.50 far far below the ipo price .

Thanks preety for a reminder

KPLC has nothing to gain or lose as such as the increase will be absorbed by consumers.

Actually,it will continue gaining albeit at a slower pase due to new connections every year.

KenGen on the other hand has been given motisha ya Kujenerate more electricity and thus meet demand.

I will be a win win situation for both companies but KenGen has a better propulsion to appreciate faster.

See,the media has taken cue from the management of KenG and KPLC

They want us to believe that the Consumer will not be made to pay for the increased tariff

Can I request gently that they go tell it to the wind

I don’t pay no utility bills

But papa knows a few things about utilities and its implication to political establishment.

Its a good buy but cant wait for the second IPO. the additional shares will dilute the share prices.

I think the appetite for kengen shares at such low valuations makes some investors nervous for we all want to buy low & sell high, may be the time isnt ripe yet for the gud news .

@preety - dont u worry,u have identified the star stock so just keep uploading it along with others & mark my words u wont go wrong .

The downside is may be 25% but the upside may run in 100 - 500 - 1000% .

@Virji'88. I've made an order at 13.25.

In the June 1,2009 Standard N-Paper,The Business page starts with an article titled 'Alternative power sources to push prices up,says KPLC'. What implication will this have on the KenGen/KPLC deal on the Ksh. 2.42 Tariff?
