Makosa ni kwa Kenyans. We do not vote on issues like corruption. We only vote based on tribe. Look we had 10 wasted years under Kibaki where he never lifted a finger to address corruption and people still sing his praises.

So in reality, UK will not have incentive to do anything about corruption. Getting numbers is more important. Look as soon as Ruto became VP he purchased that private jet. And UK did not even blink. If he does , Ruto will accuse him of betraying the Kalenjin people. smile smile smile

Thats why Ory Okolloh tweeted that its up to Kenyans to change this behaviour.

As much as I agree with you, it's good to be factual.

On a more positive note, let's hope the task force on parastatals will come up with workable ways to stamp out wastage and corruption. IMO, most of the money is lost through parastatals. Some of them only sink government money year in and year out.

Create your own heaven. Our government is no better than the AL-Shabab. Problem is they are part of you. I accepted that and moved on. Now I only have necessary contact with them. I don't live in any of the big cities. This has reduced my association with them to the bare minimum. There's totally nothing you can do about the unaccounted billions unless you are PORK

In my opinion the PORK is powerless to stop a lot of these accountability problems. Government has become such a large and complex organism that no one single individual can keep track of what's happening where.

There are countless departments and sub-departments within the smallest government ministries, each with a head who is intent on collecting imprests, night-outs and all kinds of allowances. And we haven't even mentioned parastatals and the county governments.

When it comes to major government projects and contracts, this loss of funds starts with the chief administrators and trickles down to the most junior employee.

In some cases, even those who are meant to audit govt. spending are themselves part of the problem.

Does the auditor general's office have a website?
Parliament should also have a website where such reports are posted

Accounting for Government money is very complex and Governments all over the world have missing monies when scrutiny of accounts is made. This is because of the nature of the business that governments are taxed to undertake. It does not necessarily mean the money has been stolen.

Here are trillions missing from the US budget:

Here is 4 billion Euro missing from EU budget:

In times where being 'those people' doesn't guarantee employment one has to somehow try to survive? 'They let me go because I exposed this and that...'

This is clearly someone fighting the government!

While its true that the Govt is becoming more complicated, something must be done, we have third world countries which are managing huge budgets and resources better than we are doing with our 1trn.
If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.
