They should have just talked of 'know your neighbour', otherwise we are now getting to a point where the garment is telling us that we are on our own, that they can't guarantee the security of it's citizenry!!!

Whose idea is this? it can work in the village.

Which villages? Are there any villages remaining in lower kenya?

Well, we have a village complete with a busy shopping centre.
Anybody coming to the village is known cz the shop owners, riders, drivers, drunkards and idlers act as 'cid'

It's one place where your neighbour is as good as family and an enemy is fought by all.

Its time to style up. What is being proposed is a "home owners association" kind of thing. Where neighbors are encouraged to know each other, have rules regarding to govern their block etc when new neighbors come, you get to know each other etc.

This is not a new thing.

In certain areas like Kayole and thereabouts not so long ago, certain individuals used to do this. Eg:
1. One could not move in or out of the neighborhood without 'license' from the 'officials'.
2. Premises and businesses had to abide by certain rules that required 'fees' to be paid.
3. etc.

Was this Mungiki's kumi kumi?
If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

In the course of Westgate attack discussion, there is somebody who had suggested this approach. I cant remember whom it was...Either the govt has guests here too or it could just be a mere coincidence.

Have you tried or are you hiding behing "this is Kenya" for convenience?

Nothing comes for free, we should all be trying to know our neighbors.

The good thing is, its our lives on the line.

We do nothing, we choose to perish.

I'll keep on knowing my neighbors,for when they attack, , , , ,

It's a good idea but it cannot work in isolation. If immigration is compromised to allow every Tom Dicks and Harry, then it's useless because the 10 houses in the neighborhood could be made up of thugs!

BBI will solve it
