I hear the CEO of Orange has been arrested while those of Airtel,Safaricom and Yu are on the run. Apparently the SIM cards used during the Westgate attack by the terrorists were not registered! naona watu wakipoteza kazi zao hapa- those entrusted with SIM card activations and registration in these companies. You can't embarass a CEO like this and survive!

The car they used for instance was registered but this did not deter them.

If you bought a line and claim that ur name is John abdulaziz otieno njoroge using a fake ID how will they verify your intentios?

Thank you for confirming.Thought I heard wrong.

KTN reported 'news just in' in 1 minute and went quiet on it,haven't touched on that story again.

hata mimi ni mwoga.

Why are they on the run? like seriously where can they run to?

Not on the run literally...but the issue is serious and very sensitive..If it is confirmed that operators' unregistered numbers were used, they will be charged in court and are liable individually and not as an organization.

I hope this is not true, why would anyone want to do that? I don't think Kenyan government is that stupid to arrest the CEOs of the most promising corporations in the country, They can bring a civil and criminal suit against the companies but arresting them?????? No!

Liable individually? They're not, the organization can be but no court will find the liable individually unless they're the one who issued the numbers, literally, or they used their personal cellphones, I.E the CEOs gave the Al-shabas their personal cellphone!

Either way, someone will be nabbed for breaking kenyan law and can even be blamed for putting the lives of Kenyans at risk.

It will not be smart to go after an individual in situations like these since basically the company will just disown that individual and walk away with no liability. Obviously you'll not be able to legally tie anyone in higher management to the said action so you'll remain with a low level staff and what use will that be for?

A reasonable Lawyer will advise to just go for the corporation and I know Gok have good lawyers.

The CEOs are individually & severally liable. Let the GoK set an example with then so they can also act downwards.
