"No no no, you cannot go on this way" So far, Poor book at best. If nation today is a barometer. The book will be shallow. Lacking in Content, boring you have no urge turning to the next paragraph. This guy has always been accused of his role in1982 coup. I always believe in hearing the other side of the story, and RAO has never spoken about it, at least not in any place that I know. I thought this shall be a fantastic chance for me. Disappointment: All that is said in the serialization is that he did not say much about it saying that shall bea story of another time....let me keep waiting. If the other side will never have a story, I will have no option but to believe the only side I know. Have you read the biography by Babafemi Adejo? All fellows around Raila confirm his involvevement. He refused to confirm/deny. Bright guy. Crime doesn't die. He can still be charged today. Even in this one, he has wisely evaded the query. He writes: Quote:He says in his autobiography The Flame of Freedom that he played only a “peripheral role” in the attempted coup designed by then Kenya Air Force officers to depose President Moi.
He would be detained again in 1989 and 1991 but his detention from 1982, following the attempted coup, lasted nearly six years.
He says of his role in the failed coup: “...we had been quietly engaged in operations designed to educate and mobilise the people in order to bring about the necessary and desired changes in our society — not through violence but through popular mass action. The full explanation of our efforts to bring about popular change will have to wait for another, freer, time in our country’s history. What is peripheral role? He says he was mobilizing 'Mass' Action. Every time this mobilization has happened, lives were lost violently. And before he could now make it clear, he says we wait for another FREER time. http://dn.nationmedia.co...fc981b80eebe12156c964.p dn.nationmedia.com
