@muendoz: self study is really good, but requires a lot of discipline and sacrifice. if you have already registered and got your books, draw a tight study timetable and start reading immediately...All shall be well with thee....

CFA, just like a great or grave feeling cannot be explained in plain words...It can only be experienced!

@extrabarakas, how many full CFAs in Kenya do you know?
I know only 2 inlcuding that co-managing director of Dyer & Blair Hussein.
BTW, you are right, with CFA you lose your social life kabisaa...and be prepare to talk to yourself on nbi streets esp. as the exams approach. If you can't do the exams in nbi this yr you can do in SA in dec 10.

Passed Level I through self study. My advice to those guys who are going to sit for Level I dont get freaked out by what others say, just focus on putting in the hours. The trick is to consistently dedicate like four hours each day for like seven months and do a lot of questions. If you did Finance in unergraduate you should be able to hack self study.
