@obiero. no worries. that's all nice, I think what this company needs is new management.
a thought crossed my mind, kenya is set to start pumping oil next year. gava owns nearly 30% of kq. oil is one the biggest and most threatening expenditures to profit margins.
if kq could get this fuel at a subsidized price.. or some gava arrangement...ka ching. but bad management a stumbling block

true true. actually its the staff that are hurting KQ.. the company can and must reinvent itself, and had thought well by tryin to right size last year but Mutunga's courts made one of the most bizzare decisions ever made. Its like a couple filing for divorce and the judge demands muishi pamoja! No sense..

We have got the the 10 billion Loss before tax that I predicted. It has actually come in at 10.8 Billion, no doubt the biggest loss ever by a listed firm in Eastern Africa.

Now, let's see whether the 2nd part of my prediction of a share price of 6-7 shillings will come to pass within the next 12 months.

It's instructive that in an unprecedented gesture, the full year statement includes an extract of the Auditors Report. The opinion of the auditors has some curious and interesting wording about the summary statements conforming in all material respects to the
group financial statements. I did not see the words "true and fair"

KQ issued a profit warning on 5th November 2012.

The results will be dire. There is no way that the H1 PBT loss of 6.59 Billion can translate into anything other than a bigger loss.

I used to be a KQ enthusiast but bailed out when it became clear that Mgt were hellbent on destroying shareholder value with an ill conceived expansion plan that continues to this day.

If we hit a possible 10 billion shillings PBT loss on Friday, this share could well hit the Kshs 6-7 lows that it used to trade at around the turn of the millenium. Maybe just maybe there will be long term value then. At any rate, below 10/=, it will start to attract speculative day trades but at the moment, its outlook remains real bleak!!!

Watu wa 7 bob wako wapi???? Anywho, I belatedly come out to admit that indeed I was hyping the demand and/or hold positions on KQ by stating that losses would not be steep. I have come out to clear my conscience.. Na munisamehe

The bottom line is:KQ has value...the 1H 2010 numbers will show that...for those who want to Sell can Sell...i'm waiting for it to deep to 44 bob so that i can add more...I will sell to you at 80 by December...

I do think so. KQ is in for recovery of share value like the way CFC has done. We should see 80% return on our equity by end of the year.

This was a conversation back in 2010. The rights issue messed everything up, but the time has now come for keen investors to make some money
