Astronomers have found a planet whose skies are illuminated by four different suns - the first known of its type. The distant world orbits one pair of stars and has a second stellar pair revolving around it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/new...ce-environment-19950923

#Mars water surprise in Curiosity rover soil samples http://www.bbc.co.uk/new...ce-environment-24287207
There is a surprising amount of water bound up in the soil of Mars, according to an analysis done onboard the #US space agency's (Nasa) Curiosity rover.. @murchr It was inevitable that they would claim to have found water on Mars, simply because, they are bent on proving evolution (evolution believes that life is spontaneous, which is contrary to the creationist view of life originating from the Creator). Without water, no life can exist, so, before they claim having found some sort of life, they first need to claim to have discovered water. They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds.

I agree with D32.

Scientists have for the first time confirmed liquid water flowing on the surface of present-day Mars, a finding that will add to speculation that life, if it ever arose there, could persist now. “This is tremendously exciting,” James L. Green, the director of NASA’s planetary science division, said during a news conference on Monday. “We haven’t been able to answer the question, ‘Does life exist beyond Earth?’ But following the water is a critical element of that. We now have, I think, great opportunities in the right locations on Mars to thoroughly investigate that.” http://www.nytimes.com/2...e-liquid-water.html?_r=0"There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. Are they sure its actually water or its just some other clear flowing liquid? Have they brought samples back to Earth for analysis? Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

Not necessary. Spectral AnalysisLong read but highly interesting on Reddit: We're NASA Mars scientists. Ask us anything about today's news announcement of liquid water on Mars. https://www.reddit.com/r..._ask_us_anything_about/

Not necessary. Spectral Analysis Not conclusive enough when compared to Chemical Analysis. Portfolio: Sold You know you've made it when you get a parking space for your yatcht.

Not necessary. Spectral Analysis Not conclusive enough when compared to Chemical Analysis. How so? Helium was first discovered in the sun, before we even knew we had it on earth. Quote:Pierre Janssen was a French astronomer who discovered helium in 1868. He was observing a solar eclipse in India when he noticed the yellow spectral emission lines of the element. An English astronomer by the name of Norman Lockyer observed the same spectra and proposed the name helium after the Greek name for the sun, Helios. Helium can be observed at 587.49 nanometres in the spectrum of the chromosphere of the Sun. http://www.universetoday...3/who-discovered-helium/Sent from my Black Nokia 3310

in the ages before we observed a phenomenon and then the science that explained it followed it. we have gotten to a point where the science has overtaken observation and we have robust models and theories that predict things. For example - the boson higgs particle, the math and physics that supported it's existence existed in 1960 but it was 53 years later when the observation of the same was made. So the "it does not exist until i can touch it" frame of mind is being overtaken by events. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

To the scientists, you mean they can send that rover thing all that way and they did not put something to conclusively test presence of life on that planet. Some small pregnant animals, or cockroaches which I hear can survive nuclear bombs.

Some small pregnant animals, or cockroaches which I hear can survive nuclear bombs. All metaphors you guys have of life on earth are thrown out of the window! Life if any on Mars will be different!! I think the very concept of development of what looks like our DNA and/or RNA as is here on a different planet is very unlikely. The double helix developing on earth was nothing short of miraculous. The 1st RNA would have required a molecule between 200 and 300 nucleotides in length - ok. But the odds of specifying, say, 250 nucleotides in an RNA molecule by chance is about 1 in 10 power 150 -- below the "universal probability bound," a term characterising events whose occurrence is at least remotely possible within the history of the universe. 10 power 150 is a large number even under the conditions we thought we had a couple of billion years ago. So forget the cockroaches and small animals. if we can get anything there it should be in the structure of viruses... protein sheaths with some form of organic replicating mechanisms. Curiosity is the size of a small SUV (9feet long) that is slower than a tortoise and Mars has a surface area of about 38% of earth - right? earths surface is 70% water and so the area of Mars at your disposal is larger than basically all the dry landmass on all continents on earth! In making the decision where to land it! You need to make a bet... right... so the question you would need to ask yourself is "where on Mars would life possibly occur IF IT WERE TO OCCUR?" So yeah... as is curiosity is basically looking for Organic molecules.... Organic molecules that would combine to make Nucleotides that would later combine to be some complex replicating molecule that would get a protein sheath around it.... it's a stretch but it's possible. Remember my other post on possibility of aliens looking like what we do? Crazy probabilities but the universe is broad...an analogy on how broad the universe is if earth is a basketball - the moon would be a tennis ball 24 feet away! the sun would be a house 1.75 miles away! and the nearest star?..... 800,000kms AWAY FROM THE BASKET BALL.... 2 times the distance to the moon..... THAT IS THE SCALE OF SPACE! and has been around for a long long time an another analogy - is if the total time the universe has been around can be compressed to 1 year.... and if today was midnight december 31st - everyone you now appeared in the last seconds of that day! December 31, 23:59:46 - humans invented writing. So - maybe... just maybe! All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!
