After Madrid terrorist attack , Spain pulled out almost immediately. Its now time for Kenyan forces to pull out and secure our borders. We can't defeat alshabab as its not conventional army rather an radical outfit that has nothing to loose. Instead have a squad AKA kwekwe/ eagle to eliminate those terrorists quietly kama Michuki na Mungiki. This Ali Gitonga should have been eliminated after gathering useful information.

@Tycho,
1.Do you think that Spain is safer today?
2. That the US went into Afghanistan could they be worse off if they hadn't?
3. There are bigger geo-strategic issues that define what wars to engage in and which ones not to, as for AS, they can only get worse and undermine our security and economy in the long run.
4. On eliminating them, the "Michuki style" would do but not sustainably - they have intel as well and sooner or later they'd fight back.

IMHO, they way to go is to tackle them head on.
A good starting point would be to militarize our security as well as all citizens.

Spain is likely to be even more unsafe, and America could be 'worse off' if it hadn't gone to Afghanistan, why? Because the international state system is structured by war.

But the question is, should the nations of the world still use war as a policy tool? Certainly, the more we use war and force, the more violence is institutionalized. We end up getting the results we wish to avoid.

It's like practicig Einstein's famous quote on madness.

'Tackling them' head on, is fighting the wrong enemy that's why it will never win.

The real enemy is how our systems work, and what they work for. So far, our systems don't favor mutual relations, and a universal, and communal quest for truth.

This is positive action that imparts the will to live in others, lifts up the eyes of Man, and wins hearts and minds.

Let's not forget that our decisions are formed by our psychological predispositions, and that there's justice when these predispositions are overcome.

And you think by just bringing back the troops the problem is solved? You should refresh your mind to remember why we went the troops in the first place

This is wishful thinking. It would be better for you to revisit the period before KDF went to Somalia. Kenya was being turned to another Somalia.
The troops should be stay in Somalia untill their mission is achieved.

Your proposition unfortunately is being put forward by alshabaab sympathisers and radicalised journalists.

That for me is short sightedness! People should check the events that led to KDF's deployment into the hell hole that is Somalia.
You will know that you have arrived when money and time are not mutually exclusive "events" in you life!

Kindly please expand on this??

Was it turning into Somalia because of the handful of mzungus that were kidnapped in Lamu by God knows who?

All I know is that after the invasion Kenyans are bombed as they pray, as they shop, as they commute, as they eat, as they drink..

It is only after the invasion that I feel Nairobi turn into Mogadishu! Sad

Simple!!

1. Continue operation swoop to weed out all illegals
2. Secure border with fence/wall and 24hr surveillance
3. Getting out of Somalia is the first step at crushing the motivation to attack Kenya!
