The incident that happened at westgate reaffirms that life is short, from now (not like I do) I wont waste my energy ranting and raving on such issues....we are mere mortals journey men and women, life is fleeting and like a fire gets extinguished in a second that is how fast we can say goodbye to this earth....The PORK can appoint whoever he wants in any position if he doesnt see to it that the positions are evenly distributed among the different tribes well n good,my life continues...
I wish Bwana Kinyua well in his new appointment...

Very high sounding title, Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, i can guess he can do almost anything in Gava. Makes him one of the three (either no2 or 3) most powerful Kenyans, absolutely necessary to also control "power vacuums". I hope this is the guy to do the cleaning of public service and government, 20 years in the middle of money and coming out clean is a major achievement. Maybe we are ready for take off. Coming after westgate, then the President is serious, only problem appears to be the tribe. Best of luck.

PS; If i was DPORK, i would have never gone to hague, i would have even feigned a stroke or heart attack a few days before the case and made sure it is in the news, or got my leg broken like al gore, but i would have never, ever gone, power vacuum. He should never go back there!

exactly. I have worked with him on some project in the past and he is very professional

We are the ones who are tribal because we profile everyman who is appointed anywhere to verify their ethnicity. Start viewing stuff diferently

OK...

Competence needs to be tempered with politics! Who said politics is bad? Political sense makes you see beyond trust and competence. Greater national good. Cohesion.

So when Ruto becomes the big man, the competetnt will be from RV?

how old is Kinyua BTW? Thought he was retiring

Laughing out loudly smile Applause d'oh! Sad Drool Liar Shame on you Pray

Really what will Kinyua give to the me as a Mumeru? Nothing. So what is the benefit of this balancing that people talk about? Feel good? Should competence be compromised for tribe. Why dont we profile our docs? I am yet to hear people talk of docs from coming from a particular region.

Another thing, there are jobs that one has to be very careful on where the loyalty of those appointed lies. 1982 was a good lesson

I was a diehard Kibaki supporter

Infact, I consider myself an apologist. I liked the guy and his silent, hands off style

BUT

I always felt Old Kibaki's appointments were too centred around Mount Kenya. If it wasn't Murungaru, it was Mwiraria, or Iteere or Muthaura

I tried to see why Kibaki had turned out this way. I thought, in the case of the Ameru people, he was just showing gratitude. They had stuck with him when he was in opposition.

I went back to Kenyatta's days and drew parallels. These 2 were old, sickly men and probably couldn't trust anyone else with power. Thus for Kefake, he needed Muthaura to run govt for him as the real power behind the throne. Kenyatta had all his relatives from his district running govt for him. Yes, I thought maybe it's age...

Then comes youthful Uhuru. He is now committing the sins of his 3 fathers(biological, political and godfather for Jomo, Moi and Kibaki?)

You are the President. Already, the AG, OP PS come from your county. Come on, in the interest of national unity and cohesion, share the spoils with a Non-GEMA!

If Uhuru had improved on this, I'd have considered him better than Kibaki. For now, since he's carried on with what was there, Kibaki remains tops. UMK is just mbele ya Moi but behind Jomo.

They made sure he was always given other assignments rather than the real thing!!!

@Murchir I can see competence abounds in the middle!!!!

Kinyua has been in govt (high post in treasury)for for over 20 years, where is the evidence of any competence. Kenya as an economy has always performed worse than all her neighbours yet the our private sector is only second to SA in Africa. So @ Muchr, enlighten me, where is the competence.

Kwani PORK UK has only worked with people from a certain region. Lets agree that the appointment has to do with his tribe, accept and move on.
