An international court in the Netherlands ruled Thursday to uphold the 50-year sentence handed down last year to Liberia's former president, Charles Taylor, after he was convicted of aiding war crimes in neighboring Sierra Leone.

I heard on BBC that he will serve his term in Britain.

Someone was advising him on how to live in jail. How to be humble, etc

These trials are a joke. a sad PR joke. A political comedy.

I they weren't, folks like Bush Jr. and Clinton would be defendants. Might makes right in the real world.

Absolutely ! Now put Bush and Cheney in the dock...

⚑To be fair he did lie to us in order to invade Iraq so he could make his dad proud, costing over 5,000 American lives and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi lives. So, yes macstone, we will compare him.

⚑macstone, what planet do you live on? Bush the second a good man? Outrageous and I'm an American affiliated with his party. Iraq was nothing but a family feud, totally senseless. I remember like it was yesterday, Colin Powell at the UN showing what amounted to not much more than cartoons of Iraq's WMD. Disgusting.

He started as a CIA agent. They then jailed him in the US. Before his term was over, they let him go back to Liberia and run for Presidency. He was accused of causing the war in Liberia. (How now?). He must have fallen foul of his mentor. 50 years for that.

The current president of Liberia was the chief sponsor of the violent acts that took place there. She is President today and has full backing from the west
