MTN take over of YU network in Kenya will create it's dominance in East,Central,South and West Africa. What chances will Safaricom have in beating it?.

MTN missed the bus when their bid to buy kencell failed. Their entry into the kenyan market is however welcome. We need more competition

Still far in the works......I would say it's a bid to buy....and even if they get here, how certain can you be they will beat Suffrincom to their game??.....It's a long shot but worth the try.

What will their value proposition be? Price? zain has tried it and the jury is still out. Data? scon seems set to strangle the market. Partner Networks? zain has conquered(?) this one with 'One Network.' Convergence? Telkom is angling for that niche. So what will they offer?

Castle Brewing failed to wipe out EABL.

Do you really expect the CEO to own up?. The creditors and the leased infracture from other networks would bring problems.

thought that Safaricom acquired One Com. Heard that they are about to roll out WiMaxx as a result. They are already positioning themselves.

It would take massive rebranding and a lot of capital investment to wipe out safaricoms' dominance in Kenya and with the current credit crunch this will take a while. Safaricom dominance is based on Kenyan's purchasing habits and preferences, which, are very conservative, which means loyalty.

I'm sure yu counted my line amongst the half a million subscribers they hav...but I'v hardly spent 15bob on it! The vuka promotion bagged a million subscribers for zain....but as soon as the promo ended the number of zain number on my fon book went down from 38 to 3!! Worse than befor the promo when i had 7zain numbers..... Safcom is so kenyan to the roots...gettin it out or pushed back is one real herculean task.
