I have never and will never trust any policeman...sadly so, until they give me reason to. I appreciate the fact that they are not well taken care of by the system, and I hope that gets looked into, but a serious overhaul needs to take place in the Police service. In other news, one of them policemen charged with stealing from victims of westgate. Now this, if true, should be very ruthlessly dealt with. There is clearly no difference between them and him. He is simply a coward.

I've so much unrecovered property lost and reported to police, which I cannot disclose. These guys never, ever do anything... I even suspect they are part of syndicates you hear people complain about e.g. cars, thuggery, robbery, hijacking etc Kenya is one blessed country but these incompetencies is making it a tough one

Let us start from our own backyard and estates...
Then overhauling of the entire police force and retraining them. Here the government should sack any policeman found taking a bribe...
After that we go to the immigration and do a similar thing... I have suggested here in other threads, any police, state security agent etc, found to have breached his terms of contract/ employment should not be treated as a normal crime, it should be treated as TREASON!!! period. because those criminal actions of commissions or omissions directly threaten the security of this country....PLEASE DO NOT TRANSFER THESE MISCREANTS TO OTHER STATIONS!!!! MAKE IT EXTREMELY PAINFUL FOR THEM TO ENGAGE IN THOSE ACTS. Of course they should start recruiting graduates into the force - not D+ fellows! By the way, the same D+ fellows are the ones who have rose within the ranks and are now commissioners and assistant commissioners, OCPD, OCS etc....so you see where am going with this... Make use of technology and data collection that is simple and easy to retrieve and share instantaneously to help make critical security decisions on the fly. Trouble lies within our selves, we never report anything, not even anonymously how many times have you walked out of something fishy that you have seen? How many times have you bribed that immigration official to get a passport or even the police? We have to instill a culture within ourselves of being a brothers keeper..these ammunition passed thru someone, someone rented/sold out their car to some people he had doubts about. And the big one MONEY LAUNDERING I saw a post somewhere online yesterday but nimeitafuta siioni. What the poster was basically saying was that in his neighborhood was a young man he'd known since his childhood days. At some point after high school, the young man had disappeared from the scene for around 4-5yrs and when he reappeared, he seemed to have acquired unexplainable riches, was driving around in expensive cars, bought himself a fleet of matatus and hang out with some questionable characters. At some point, the young man and the poster had gotten into an altercation and he reported to the kenya police station but no action was taken. If anything, the young man now began giving him death threats and fearing for his life, he reported the same to the local A.P station (at the D.O's office) since he figured the A.Ps were supposedly not as corrupt as the K.P. And then the shock hit him. The officer to whom he was making the report promptly whipped out his phone and called the young 'mysterious' man 'live-live, informing him of the report against him. Shortly afterwards, the young guy and his minions check in and guess who's right on time to receive them? The A.P. commander. While our poster is wondering what's up, the young dude hako hapo nje wanasalimiana na commander zile za niaje? umenitupa sana mtu nguyas... Shortly, the cops asked the young man to write a statement on the basis of which our poster was accused and locked up for 2 days, all for being daring enough to raise his suspicions. Put yourself into this poster's shoes and tell me, would you ever bother to report anything to them again? Would you even dare trust a cop, knwing full well at the end of the day, they'll rat you out to the bad guys? nuff said! why do the police always give multiple long mobile numbers for contact, is it that hard to have one short number that can be routed based on location to the nearest station.

The immigration dept. should be scrapped and put under internal security. It is so easy to get in that even that dude who was repatriated with Chinedu just strolled back. BBI will solve it :)

With police characters like below, we really need to get worried, http://www.nation.co.ke/...8/-/oc9y3bz/-/index.html"Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least." Goethe

Individually and collectively, we must bring an end or at the very least, reduce corruption. Only then can we expect safety. Needless to say, lets send Gichangi home and create an elite squad to tackle terrorism and leave to do its job. Lets vow not to involve in army in interior security matters. Its a hammer cracking a nut. I believe kimwana bottled it and let army into a situation that recce was handling. If we don't want to do any of the above, lets amend the katiba so Kenyans can carry guns. Sehemu ndio nyumba
