As one whose family and friends have been in that operation, I know how it must feel keeping your fingers crossed hoping for the best of news. These security guys, be they army or police, are our daily heroes. Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

Surely was anyone supporting this Rogo? Thats crazy. Many. Challenge me and I will retrieve their Posts. Right now, they are Saints. Mourning and Consoling us here. I can Spot 3-4 hypocrites right here in this thread.Wanafiki wa Mwisho. But this is not the time to point Fingers, so let us all observe Humility and Pray for the Situation that's with us. I have lost a former employee of mine, hardworking, brilliant, charming, 24 year old girl!! A friend. It's hard to believe. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God..

How about u go show them how to do it?
Hows about you go stuff it up yours Jamani? Please not now, i beg you. Just learnt that my friend from high school, a very bright young man who joined KDF as a cadet has died in the standoff. Do cadets get assigned to direct combat really? @Impunity, Its good to read and understand a statement b4 commenting. That guy joined as a cadet, every Officer joins as a cadet but graduates thro the ranks upto General. And yes, cadets can be deployed in war/ direct combat, though there are conditions. They were not deployed in this case. "Peace is our profession, War is our business" ...Unknown

Pole, our cadets/KDF officers are the best, he was probably commanding a unit/platoon, labda ya ordinance and explosives, should be at least a captain, i wanted to join several years back, na huko grade i think is B+ and above these days, specialist an honors degree. Al Jazeera snd BBC are reporting "sporadic, sometimes sustained" gunfire is it true there are guys who have locked themselves at the barclays bank in the mall? The man who marries a beautiful woman, and the farmer who grows corn by the roadside have the same problem

The siege of the westgate mall more or less reminds me of the siege of Eldoret town during PEV, where i was a victim. I was working and living in the town (had been transfered there) at the time and for 2 weeks life was hell as one would have died at any moment since the marauding warriors had taken control of the estate I was living in, moving from house to house, burning property, killing their targets. You can imagine the helplessness when you know there is no where you can run to and all you can do is hide and pray. Luckily the KDF arrived in the town and things eased gradually. I took the first rescue convoy out of the town. Me and my wife and kids were lucky, some weren't. As we condemn the violence visited upon us by the foreign terrorists, we should as well condemn and act on violence visited on kenyans by fellow kenyans.
