Brother, the Bible says something about anger and bitterness. This might be a time to emancipate oneself from everything and seek divine intervention, even in the way we react towards this.

Apparently the initial assault has failed. Only one gunman wounded. Attackers killed a few hostages and threw their body parts outside after helicopters landed on the roof. Strategy is to get them to run out of ammo.

Said ammo may be 'run-out' on the hostages. Priority should not be placed on capture or end of this nightmare but on the safe recovery of the hostages first. No more collateral damage!

Dude, where have you been. It's a suicide mission. The attackers do intend to kill all hostages with maximum casualties to the rescue forces. By all indications, the hostages are just temporary collateral. It's bloody sad.

Police boss with positive message: "Tell hostages that help is steps away. Security men all over the building. Stay put."

Been trying to help. Suicide mission? Maximum casualties? Dangerous words those!! Isn't that a deadly assumption?

I would rather they be engaged in negotiations and nobody else dies, even if such negotiation was to take a month than rush in on assumptions, end it soon, but lose another so many livesSad

I tend to think so - these guys normally don't have an exit plan. for them its take out as many persons as you can before they die. I am actually fearing that they are waiting to ambush person who want to make that move.

From Al Shabaab itself:

"HSM Press Office ‏@HSMPress_ 5h

It's really really hard to stop someone who's willing to die. It's even harder when death is desired as the ultimate reward. #Westgate"

Sad God help us.

@Masukuma you are wrong. Suicidal missions don't require any exit plan. The terrorists' know that they are not supposed to come out of the act alive.
The ones who are not supposed to die in the mission have exit plans. Infact in this case may be several got out as was required. The remaining ones are the expendables by default.

This is ridiculous, all refugees should be rounded up and sent back to their home country, forget political correctness!! We cant sacrifice Kenya's safety in the name of being friendly neighbors. Atleast take a leaf from the US, law abiding refugees are given permanent residency, but the rest are sent out on the next available flight. But since we never differentiated between the law abiding ones and the terrorists, the only solution is to send all of them home.

These aint refugees but minions who think they are becoming very important. We have to check our border patrol.

I wonder what these guys are fed on for them to agree to commit such heinous acts. Sad indeed. More sad is the thought that someone may have been bribed and casually allowed these hooligans in.

Some of the attackers could be young Kenyans like that boy Elgiva Bwire ,indoctrinated in North Eastern province and dispatched on such suicide missions.

We need to change our thinking... we think of time using the gregorian calender, we think of these people as thinking like us... we need to know and think like them.

there was a scene in the film inglorious bastards that explains this (as Col Hans Landa talks about jews)

Quote:

Col. Hans Landa:
The feature that makes me such an effective hunter of the Jews is, as opposed to most German soldiers, I can think like a Jew where they can only think like a German. More precisely, a German soldier. Now if one were to determine what attribute the German people share with a beast, it would be the cunning and the predatory instinct of a hawk. But if one were to determine what attributes the Jews share with a beast, it would be that of the rat.
If a rat were to walk in here right now as I'm talking, would you treat it to a saucer of your delicious milk?
Perrier LaPadite: Probably not.
Col. Hans Landa: I didn't think so. You don't like them. You don't really know why you don't like them. All you know is you find them repulsive. Consequently, a German soldier conducts a search of a house suspected of hiding Jews. Where does the hawk look? He looks in the barn, he looks in the attic, he looks in the cellar, he looks everywhere *he* would hide, but there's so many places it would never occur to a hawk to hide. However, the reason the Führer's brought me off my Alps in Austria and placed me in French cow country today is because it does occur to me. Because I'm aware what tremendous feats human beings are capable of once they abandon dignity.
