One is often forced to look away, because the vampire begins to show its teeth. It wants to suck the other's blood. Defending the ego is vampirism, the dance of the undead. The vampire wants to live, at all odds, for eternity, but it can't live and let live. It doesn't know how, and it's days are numbered by a 'silver bullet'. Such is the selfish being. Does one defend the ego or does the ego defend itself? Both ways @symbols! The self defends the ego, and the ego, it's self.

Emotion isn't ambiguous. There are two 'centers'; 'eros' and 'thanatos', and their equilibrium points.
Man is complex, but not so complex as to remain mysterious.
