Tyson's speed and punching power makes him fan favourite for many including me. The 80's Tyson was a joy to watch then and even now.

However, the truth is Tyson only faced 2 serious boxers; Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis and unfortunately both kicked his a**e big time. He however, popularised boxing worldwide and created pay per view as we know it today.

Tyson was never a boxer, however, he could have gone well in todays MMA.

That is a joke right? So there was nver a serious boxer when Tyson was at his prime?

You took words right out of my mouth @McReggae!!! Let's forgive @Obi and assume he is one of those fellows who only know Tyson, Lennox and Holyfield. Otherwise this must be the joke of the day!!!

Obi wants us to believe Evander and Lennox were the only serious fighters coz they beat Tyson and fought into the early 2000s thus many people remember them!

Boxer W L D
Evandaer 44 10 2...pathetic
Lennox Lewis 41 2 1 .....descent

The boxers who had no chance against iron Mike;
Trevor Berbick 49 11 1
Larry Homes 69 6 0...look at those number of wins.
Tony Tubbs 47 10 0
Michael Spinks 31 1....only lose was to Iron Mike and then he retired, he had never fallen to the canvas before he met Iron Mike
Frank Bruno 40 50 0...compare to Evander!

That you did not watch these fighters in the ring does not mean beating them was a mean achievement!!!!

You made a small typographical error. That should be

40 5 0
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@Mcreagge,

Anyone challenging a world champ will have a decent record with so many wins yada yada. That does not make them Great, just goodish. Probably every fighter who challenges for a world title have such records, so those numbers mean nothing.

How many of those you listed are considered to be top 25 heavyweight boxers of all time, or even top 50? probably a pre-Tyson Larry Holmes, the rest are as I said earlier Journeymen.

Michael Spinks was a light Heavyweight who moved to heavyweight due to a lack of class fighters in that category, when tyson checked in, he was fodder.

There are many world cup finals, but if you mean soccer hapo hapana!!! Boss pay per view vs football/soccer final, you cannot compare the 2. Then again the timing... anyway tuwachie hapo!

I read somewhere the viewership (including pay per view was (highest world cup finals viewership + highest Superbowl viewership) x 8

On the contrary, he may end up being the richest sports personality when he is done. He is very business savvy, promotes his own fights and events, so all those promotional programs you see before his major fights just make him more money.

His money wont last. His lifestyle borders on the ridiculous. Do you know the guy is semi-illiterate?

I'm telling you!! Crazy fellow. He suprised everyone! Mayweather CLEARLY won EVERY round!! Alvarez just couldn't land any punches! Mayweather was too fast and smart for him. How anyone can call it a draw is beyond imagination.

And that Alvarez is one strong dude. He was taking big time blows to the head and just couldn't go down. But I'm sure he was happy the 7th round came to an end. 30 more seconds and he would have been on the canvas! He took a serious beating towards the end and seemed totally defenceless!

I hope people are now convinced that floyd can bash manny. No more debates about who is better

Now this would be the mother of all bouts. I hope I'll get to see it in my life time. Manny is not your usual customer. Dude is too fast. Mayweather would have to bring his A+ game to win that one. Of course even Manny would have to bring his A+ game.

Let these two great boxers do what has to be done for this fight to happen. Talk is cheap.

I made this wish on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Now my wish has come true*. Only a couple of days to the big fight!!! I finally get to watch Money vs Manny.

*Assuming Al Shabaab thugs or some high school kids (and part time carjackers) on holiday with a rented gun and high on synthetic drugs don't catch up with me before Sunday morning. Sleep don't mess my day!!!

That match has single handedly managed to kill boxing. Apart from long term fans (like myself and others) it will be hard to convince other fellows to pay (or even watch for free) another match.

I read a joke somewhere that the rerun of the match is being run on cartoon network replacing Tom and Jerry because the story line is the same - Running after each other all over and ocassionally hugging yet you are supposed to be adversaries!!
