Clarks will last an average of 4-5 yrs and still classy, and comfortable.

How many Bata shoes will you have bought during the same period at their going rate of 3K?

If u get original Clarks u forget about shoes for several years plus they are super comfy. Bata, I used to be number 1 fan for their stuff till they lied to me thru their teeth. Bought Hush Puppies, they had a ka-tag indicating real leather upper only to discover that the upper was synthetic. The sole is super but still they lied. So I bade them kwaheri. Am always on the lookout for ECCO shoes, the pair I had was unrivalled in all respects. Served me four years n the sole was still like new.

I've my doubts as to the quality of the Hush Puppies at the Bata shops. Comparing them to the shops at Capital Centre (1st floor), Brands at Junction - the difference (and the price) is stark.

I've worn both Clarks and Hush Puppies, and they are both excellent and very comfy :)

Clarks probably have a wider selection locally.

I had the luck to find a guy selling a pair n I just could not let him go. Never seen the guy again. Next best place to bahatisha is Gikomba.
seen someone say they shipped in Clarks for 2500 from a sale - I shud enquire if I can get ECCO in similar manner- of course at SALE price.
If I find a source I'll holla.

Really? Are they genuine? which sites do you use? that sounds cheap for clarks especially for men's shoes.... i got my son's at £25 at a clearance sale last month... that's like 3.5k current rate.....

the other day i met this walalu selling "clarks" shoes for men @3-3500... he swore they are real leather (well, they "smelt" like real leather and the sole "felt" like rubber) but i doubt they are real clarks... apparently, they are smuggled in. A colleague who is also a clarks lover was to confirm for me but this hasn't been done yet - if they are genuine, i will get the guy's number and post here for those interested.

Kirika,

I buy have always and will continue buying bata -well until circumstances change.
for bata thing is buy shoes from 4k and you wont regret it. and im not saying that you go to some dingy "bata" shoe shop , go to recognised shops. i can tell you ive had my shoes go similar period only that mama insists that i give them a rest.

Are they better than my favorite Hush Puppies?

yeah he did (2010 i think). about the time they have been trying to shake the old people's shoes tag. in kenya they would most likely sell as high end expensive shoes.

read this:
clarks is hot? (yes, really!)
no longer the preserve of toddlers and oaps, the brand has hit its style stride

and this too:
does buying shoes from clark's signal the slippery slide into old age?

and also this.

How are the prices at the local Clarks store hapo Thika Road mall? Judging from their UK website they should be quite pricey.
