Eish....mwanaume ni effort. Well done. Applause Applause Applause There are people who struggle for years to just lose what u av lost in 4 weeks

Applause Applause Applause Have a look at the '4-Hour Body'... apparently you can loose weight even without exercising(for the lazy ones). As long as you know the right food combinations.

Have you tried it Mukiri? Does it really work?

I guess I'm lucky, never really had to struggle with weight, plus I walk and swim alot which keeps me lean. But what I read made sense. There is also a website with people's experiences from all-over the world. The book is/was a best-seller

@Masukuma, Congrats. Can you call Mrs Kanene and demand the the 1m mullah. You have done it behind the cameras kudos and keep it up. Hope you have used a good scale and not a waiganjo one. I hear in some places they ask you how much weight you want to loose and then they get you a scale that will give you the exact results without breaking the sweat.

As said elsewhere mwanaume ni effort (na mwanamuke ni sura).

Sorry brazza @masukuma, I would like to introduce you to one small reality; weight loss is rapid at first, the first 10 kg sort of disappear, then you body goes 'oooooooh', like it is conspiring against you, it adapts and then you hit a plateau. Losing half a kilo takes weeks. You need to know that this point is coming and it is where many give up, dejected. Try not to. Eventually the kilos come down but after a long slog. To survive, you need to enjoy exercise, ingrain it into your life so that it becomes a habit of life and not a goal to be met.

This is very true.It happened to me.

When I felt really big and decided to do something I was kido 89.I worked out and in about a month went to 85 then 82.Since then I have not managed to go lower than that so I accepted it but maintained the exercise regime. My bestest is hulla hoop.
Love is beautiful and so are those who share it.With Love, Marriage is an amazing event in ones life time, the foundation of joy, happiness and success.

Mine stagnated at 82. It keeps fluctuating around there. smile

@washiku at 82 and still doing 10km daily. You must be a very tall guy then, to keep your BMI in check

I think where most people fail is intake of food. I was there in 2010. I used to workout hard and then I would feel justified to eat to my fill. I actually became heavier. This time around I am doing food portions and working hard on the tracks and the field. i will rest at 80kgs. even if it takes the 13 day diet!!! I am in this for the long haul! hii mwili lazima ijikule! I require 2600 calories a day (my age, activity, height and weight). If I keep my calories at 2000 I will burn fat... mwili haina option!

on a lighter note
Quote:

Love this Japanese Doctor!
Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster. Want to live longer? Take nap.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: Oh no. Wine made from fruit. Fruit very good. Brandy distilled wine, that mean they take water out of fruity bit so you get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made of grain. Grain good too. Bottom up!

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of one, sorry. My philosophy: No pain...good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU NOT LISTENING! Food fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetable be bad?

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: You crazy?!? HEL-LO-O!! Cocoa bean! Another vegetable! It best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming good for figure, explain whale to me.

Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is shape!

Well... I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

AND......

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits.
4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits.
5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits.

CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Have dropped 7kgs over the last 8-10 months; I now seem to have stagnated. How I wish my 6kms run 4-5 times weekly can bring with it some miracle for another 5kgs. Phombe ndio shida kubwa tho

Perhaps you should look at this mbloo:

How alcohol affects metabolism.

Alcohol & Weight Loss.

Ditch the booze.

Suffice it to say, it took me quite a while to lose some 15kgs I'd gained while indisposed. I never bothered to keep weighing myself though, just exercising and being careful with my diet. Niliamka tu siku moja, about 1.5yrs later, nikakuta kilo zimetokomea. Bottom line, it's doable guys.
