Salon biz depends solely on what one has to offer. Does she do the best braids,facials..etc? are her prices reasonable? Let her not fear compe..it's there in every other biz. What matters is the quality and uniqueness of what she's offering and her prices. Let her face the compe head on and learn a lot while at it. All the best!
