I'm surprised on one has set the fact straight on this issue. Man United paid 23.5m for Fellaini. I repeat 23.5 - the exact amount that was stated in the expired release clause. Everton announced the deal as WORTH 27.5m to them because Fellaini waived the bonus that would have been due to him. This would have amounted to 4m!!! Habari ndiyo hio. Of course News outlets will continue to report the more "romantic" 27.5 but it would be nice for people to get the facts right.
Having said that, as I said earlier, the way Man United conducted business this window was TOTALLY AMATEURISH!!! At this rate, we might need a director of football!! Moyes might not take it kindly but the club is bigger than anyone and it is not there to massage anyone's ego!
Although this is taking to far, and has an extremely slim chance of ever happening, how about having Sir Alex as the first Director of Football? What?? Can't a brother dream?
And by the way, how have Arsenal fans survived for 8 years?? A month of comedy and a loss to Liverpool is TOO MUCH for any Man United fan to take. Arsenal have been living like this for 8 years!! Man, Arsenal fans must be strong. That or they went past their elastic limit long time ago!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
