What about "muthithinda"? it's quite profittable also..I know of a farmer in Nyandarua who sells one wide mature muthithinda at 20,000 ...he has planted this in a 1.2 acre shamba...
Pesa inaingia mpaka kichwa inashangaa yes, eucalyptus is mufao. I am yet to hear a place where people claim the ones bought from KEFS have dried up wells like people used to complain kitambo...muthithinda should be cedar, must be taking long before he harvests but the money is worth the wait.

Thanks I dont know if mukaa is in the green part of makueni but eucalyptus will dry up the place. My suggestion is u visit the forest dept machakos or nrb and someone will advice you on which trees will do well where But where are the Agriculture Extension Officers to advice people. I am seeing people planting trees in the middle of their shambas...Who is supposed to tell them this is wrong? That is one department that needs new life. infact they've made it that its upto you to seek them when you need advice. Advice them when you get the chance These, along with Livestock Extension Officers are amongst the most difficult fellows to find. They're so scarce yet their services are sorely needed. But they are there, I sometimes see them in my locality. Is the agriculture (and whoever is in charge of Forestly) reading this? What would do well in Gachoka (Embu) near Nyaga's home area?

just visit Karura,. ... they have what you want. also don't be overly optimistic. I planted some eucalyptus in 2006 [7yrs ago] ... and a yet to see them being harvestable.
