Yeah I'm fun....but eish the number of threads popping on Wazua about Tz just shows that Kenyans are worried about Tz...oh was Kikwete even in Mombasa for that EAC meeting?...I'm sure he gave it a middle finger...Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Kikwete did whhat? You are spreading too many lies and wishful thinking. I understand you are not an East African but your bias for Tanzania is too much. Tanzania gov has said it wasn't invited for Mombasa and the earlier one at Entebbe

there is nothing wrong with 3parties within a bloc meeting to advance their interests which do not affect one other member. Tz will not pull out of EAC soon. My discussions with some guy in the Tz gvt during some summit held in Kigali points to the fact that Tz feels they're still part of east africa. Infact, they feel we misunderstand them!

Someone needs to explain to me why all this is important. All the countries in the EAC have more problems than they can solve in a life time.

If you think Uhuru visiting China or an American president coming to Tanzania will solve these problems, you know nothing about geopolitics.

As for Tanzania against Malawi against Rwanda against DRC, Kenya against Uganda against Sudan etc etc - these petty pissing games are mere distractions. That is all.

I hope the leaders who are engaging in them will wake up soon and do the work they were hired to do. Serving the people of this region.

+1 this. Kenya, Tz, Ug,Rw,Burundi, infact all African countries are all artificial entities created 100 years ago by colonists. Before they landed here, these countries did not exist. Pissing contests between Dar and Nbi, Dar and Kigali, Nbi and Kampala or whoever do not add any value to anyone. It is like these two kids I remember in primary school who would always be competing to see who would be the second-last in class. They would work hard just enough to beat each other and not be the in the last position. Looking at the bigger picture, they both lost out. The real thing we should all be focusing on is getting rid of ignorance amongst ourselves and focusing on the pursuit of economic opportunities within Africa and the wider world. How can we be indulging in such nonsense while the sizes and productivity of our economies are smaller and less efficient than SME companies in the developed world? We still sell to the world tea, coffee, horticultural products, mainly agricultural stuff that is not even processed to increase value, and we buy everything else including the clothes, shoes, phones, even the coffee and tea we put in our cups every morning has been bought from us, processed abroad and resold to us at a profit to the foreign food company. These are the issues we should be facing, not small time races to nowhere among brothers.

I think there are efforts behind the scenes to restore relations. Let’s see how this goes, but it may be difficult to undo the damage already done immediately. Full relations maybe after Kikwete-Kagame term ends.
TZ’s actions in recent past have made it appear like they want to take away Kenya’s entire share of the transport and logistics market. Why antagonize Kenya on this. Just develop your ports and infrastructure quietly, without creating scenes since we are all East Africans. If anyone wants to use your infrastructure, so be it. If anyone wants to use Kenya’s so be it. TZ need to realise they do not have to be the regional logistics hub to develop their economy by double digits. Ethiopia is not anybody’s regional hub and is doing better than Kenya and TZ.

And whose fault is that? Is it their responsibility to make themselves understood by putting their ideas across or is it our duty to understand them?

Anywho, I'm still hopeful the common market, with free movement of goods and labor, shall be a reality...soon.

Who would want TZ or Kenya or any other country for that matter to go down? None I would want to guess. Let all countries do biz without stepping on others’ toes. Let all countries open their markets to everyone so we can do biz and move freely. If there is anything any country is doing that does not auger well for regional good, let us correct it rather than burying our heads in the sand. That’s all we are asking.

Tz does what it does due to a massive inferiority complex. They are scared of Kenyans.

The opposition had raised fears that a tripartite alliance between Mr Kagame, Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta and President Museveni – manifested in their deal-rich joint meeting in Kampala followed by the launch on Wednesday of the largest berth in Mombasa - showed Tanzania was likely being side-lined on lucrative infrastructure investments on Rwanda prodding.

Rwanda was likely having an upper hand in diplomatic offensive following the strained relations, Mr Mbowe said, before asking how the Tanzanian government planned to address the problem. Rwanda’s Foreign Affairs Minister Louis Mushikiwabo did not receive our telephone to respond to Dar es Salaam’s overtures.

Earlier, the Tanzanian PM rejected the notion had culminated in his country being marginalised by East African Community bloc members.

Latest regional deals have been signed behind the back of both Tanzania and Burundi, and President Museveni told journalists after a June 25 meeting in Entebbe with presidents Kenyatta and Kagame that there was no harm in making decisions and briefing other peers later.

Tz has natural resources, Kenya has human resources. Tz is most stable politically in the region. The monolithic CCM will rule for the next century. Kenya is politically unpredictable, NARC, PNU, TNA.

But I think TZ’s entry into the fray in DRC alongside UN peace keepers is Kagame’s biggest beef with TZ. These other reasons being bundled around are just but sideshows.
M7 is quite in the mix with Rwanda as far as DRC is concerned, where’s the wisdom in asking him to mediate?

Kagame can only be appeased if TZ pulls out of DRC.

until they stop thinking in Swahili then they we can debate about whether or not they are going up.......as for now they are playing CATCH-UP. Remember our GDP nominal is bigger by more 10b USD and growing...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_African_countries_by_GDP_%28nominal%29

dont even get me started on per capita GDP. Yes i know the numbers (low GDP per capita) are nothing to be proud of, but fact is with all those minerals, bigger land mass, bigger population they are still doing very poorly.

Interesting. Add no.16: Tanzania’s decision to send UN peace keepers in DRC and UN decision to transform TZ and SA backed peace keeping force in DRC into an offensive force. Instant impact on EAC

I have known of some Kenyan hoteliers working for a top international hotel chain who took forever to acquire the work permits despite everything being in order. And even on landing there, one day some gov't official walked in and ordered them out hivyo tu fuaaa!Sad
