These two groups of professional service providers have become officially sanctioned Pozi Schemes. The reason is that there are too few people in the professions.

So all you need is to get a degree and register with LSK or ISK then open an office. Every time a client presents a case/project to you, you ask for a retainer of a few thousands [pesa ya kufungua file] and do nothing! You simply sit on it unless the client follows up diligently.

Each day your office is open you will get several new clients with different cases and different projects. You job is to simply open case/project files and collect the retainers.

If a client complains of inaction, you offer to refund the money and close the file.

It's a standard Ponzi Scheme!

I came to this conclusion after dealing with several lawyers and surveyors in my not very short life.
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Problem could be on the legal modalities of payment. Their payment should be designed like for architects. Architects are only paid after service is delivered to the satisfaction of the client.
The service is broken into small workable parts to enable this.

The retainer I'm talking about is what they call "Pesa ya kufungua file". It is really not the fee for services rendered, that comes later on conclusion of the matter.

This retainer can at times be as low as 500bob,even lower up country. In Nairobi it's about 2k..... get five new clients daily and you are good to go!

2 or 5k?acha watu watengeneze pesa but even in developed countries acquiring the services of an attorney will cost you an arm and a leg, billed per hour....only big firms do retainers in Kenya.
Na siku hizi kuna hadi consultation they learnt it from doctors,1k for legal advise
possunt quia posse videntur
