I have tried and removed my googles and i can i still read Kshs 50,000 for number plates replacement. At this rate, only the government will have the authority to rob citizens without violence. Number plates will now be a hot item in thefts as thieves will be offering stolen numbers at a cheaper price than replacing at KRA. Sabotage will also rise as all that someone will need to do to state a revenge on a car owner is to snatch #plates and let the owner suffer the consequences.

@ Gathige, Please explain the blue part.

Peronalized number plate to cost you Kes. 1 Million.

Replacing a defaced normal number plate will cost you Kes. 50,000 (even if the car worth is Kes. 30K like those minis/bijutis)

The consequences of facing East, the gaaamnet must get money at all cost!

Personalized is ok...but for the defaced its just nonesense...

Personalized will affect kina Oliech and Onyango mostly, for me I am contented with my cars which all the plates end with 111J.

Now i know you.

If true,50K for plate replacement is unrealistic and unreasonable.I have lost plates to car-jackers.Imagine having to pay for them.....Or maybe it's Jubilee's way of creating employment by recruiting robbers.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Lets wait for a clarification otherwise that charge is untenable.

How many times do we change/face number plates.

In my several years of driving and owning cars I have never changed neither am I in need of one inscribed BIGCHICK 010.....

Do this may not affect me.Enlighten me I could be missing the bigger picture.

@BigChickita, I think my concern is who determines that the number plate is defaced..kama ni Jublee government, iko chida...That 425B loan Mr Freedom received from Shaina has to be paid..and they KE government if screwing all of us for it....

Ama inaibiwo.. na kwasababu hautaki kwenda KRA.. unakimbia Jua kali/Kirinyaga road, where they fix you chap chap (20 minutes) unaletewo ingine na 5K.. how would the GoK tell you lost one.

Infact faced with a 50K fine.. HELL HECK i will seek own means to acquire another one.. hata kama nikugonga sufuria ya mama

and this things are cheap abroad.. Does it mean those with customised plates will have to be moving around with the KRA receipt in their cars to prove it..
