Great run from Kiprotich. Great teamwork from the Ethiopians. We need to go back to the drawing board. This is the moment wee needed Wanjiru the most.

Two issues come out from the Men's marathon:

1. Doing all your training in a cold place (Iten in this case) while the Championships while be held in a hot place (Moscow) is not a good idea.
2. If you seriously want a gold medal in the men's marathon, you need to select players who have not participated in any race for at least 6 months. The last time Kiprotich participated in a major race was in the London Olympics last year. The last time the Ethiopians who participated in the Championship ran was in February.

Song long as we get our clean sweep in Men's 1500m and at least a medal in the 5000M Women, I'll be happy.

Recheck your facts again........win some lose some, leo tumepoteza, we compete another day. Apart from Kiprotich, those marathoners participate in series marathons almost equally. Kip made his best time in Netherlands after the olympics and was in Tokyo marathon last year.

kiprotich has the mental attitude to win a championship event but he will never win a big city marathon his best time is 2.07 while in those city marathons they clock 2.05 and below

Where is that "Know it all" Tassia who insisted that he was sure that Kebede would win and anyone who thought otherwise was clueless ? Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

As for Kenya, this is the weakest marathon team they have fielded in a long time. But I am not loosing any sleep over Kenya athletics.
