@madollar, I must add that in the men's marathon the Ethiopian that has Desisa,Kebede and Tola look much stronger!!!

kebede has the experience just like kiplagat in the womens marathon .Thats why kiprop has to deliver the gold in the1500m with 4 golds each on the last day will most likely now be decided by the silver medals..

every medal counts, if we get to 4 we can be sure of being no.3 after US and possibly russia (wako na dada anatupa mkuki bwana). Jamaica will definitely get 4 golds and thus we need to beat them in the silvers. Ethiopia may beat us on the rest but if we scrape silvers and bronzes - tunawesa make it to no.3

defar yuko kwa 5k women?

Jamaica could get even more...,the 200m both men and women, and probably both the 4 by 100m relays.

200m and 4 by 100 women is unlikely for Jamaicans. Kuna dada wa Nigeria hapo anaitwa Blessing Okagbare and Allyson Felix wa US for 200m.
Blessing has beaten Shelly Ann this year

she already has silver from long jump. on the 4 by 100m women - i suspect the americans will go home with this one.

What happened to Mike Mokamba in the 200m. He did not start. There was a time Kenya always fielded athletes in the 100m, 200m and 400m. I was looking forward to see what he could do.

That win for Okagbare was over the shorter 100m,come the championship race on Monday,no one could live with Fraser Price, the battle for 200m is between her and Felix...Ahoure to me is even more of a threat to them than Okagbare...8.20 pm tonight that small problem will be sorted out in just under 23 seconds.

The last truly competitive sprinter we had was way back in 1992.Samson Kitur winning a bronze in the 400m at the Barcelona olympics.

Its not just about winning a medal. This is an opportunity for a runner like Mokamba to lower his personal best, possibly lower the Kenyan record and perhaps learn something that could help him win a medal at the All Africa games.

When Kenya participated in the 4 X 100m relay at the Seoul Olympics, they set a national record that lasted 25 years. Mokambas father was in that team.

There was a time when Kenya sprinters used to be golden in African championships. See this article.
