The children of the late Peter Kago engaged in a dispute over sale of 51pc stake to Massmart of SA. Newton Mukuha says his siblings want to disinherit him. They, on the other hand say Naivas wasn't their father's business at all but is a company and that a stranger shouldn't be alowed to stop operations.

If you are rich, do a will.

If you are poor, do a will.

If you are in between, do a will.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Let US not wait for a particular age. Let us do it now. You can keep modifying the will as and when you want.

Do a will for what you have now. At 40 you can replace/modify it.

All you need is a Lawyer [They are all over nowadays - and cheap for 'standard' documents] and two witnesses. Kwisha maneno!!

Better yet, de-link business from family inheritance and form an independent corporation that is professionally managed. Alternatively give away your mabillions and leave your children enough to live on and skills to follow their path...
