I was late on this thread. The new qualifying rules for the 800M means the heats are do or die!Only the top 2 qualify unlike in the past when there were 4 qualifiers. It's a travesty that there will be no Kenyan in the final (interesting stat that the last time this happened was 1995). Tirunesh Dibaba is in a world of her own, did Vivian Cheruiyot beat her in Daegu or she did not participate??? Her kick is like the one for Bekele...she will remain at the top for a while.I'd love to see the two face off in Rio in both the 5k and 10k, hopefully Vivian will get back to fitness after maternity leave. It's interesting how we know Bolt will win the orgasmic 100M final but we still get excited about it.I have a feeling he'd have smashed his WR in Daegu if it wasn't for the false start. I feel nothing for athletes who have been caught doping before i.e. Gatlin BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

The SC finals will be very interesting......Koech only qualified for Moscow via a wild card and Kipruto aims to sweep Kemboi aside. ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

I think that was Kemboi as the defending champ .Kipruto and Koech go through 1st and 2nd in heat 3.Kipruto versus Kemboi will be war in the final.

I agree, the finals will be war!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

How do the Ethiopians save their energy to have a kick in the last part of long distant races? Each one of them is able to do this. I find it very suspicious!!!

Mo farah also has the kick this days and even outruns bekele which was thought unimaginable a few years ago .it comes down to coaching endurance and speedwork thats why the ethiopians never allowed the press to cover their training sessions before major championships infact dibaba could be the last of the ethiopians to have the kick as vivian has now outkicked defar so many times..

I differ, how do you explain Kemboi participating despite finishing sixth in our trials, the reason why we have four Kenyans in the steeplechase...the defending champ is given a wild card by the IAAF,but the athlete must meet their home athletic federation requirements.

What I like about Kemboi is that he has the attitude to rise to the occasion. He is also a lethal kick that makes him stand out. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

Nothing there about the defending champion issue (which is how Kemboi got in). What i read there is the Kenyan trials way of picking athletes, first two across the line and a third by the wild card given by AK(how Koech got in)
