original project design is being reviewed by JICA consultant team so as to ensure that fewer people are affected, natural conditions are preserved, better alignments and road reserves are secured for the necessary developments and expansion of the road at present and in the future.
4.
The proposed revision of alignment by JICA consultant team has reduced the expected number of affected households from 336 to 83 (20 at Changamwe, 18 at Kinango and 45 at Likoni). The proposed alignment is only tentative ââŽâ no final decision has been made yet. 5.Currently, an assessment is being undertaken by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and JICA to determine the extent of re-location and number of Project Affected Persons (PAPs).
