After the Bagamoyo and Djibouti Ports scare of taking away our business, it seems the presidential directive on port operations n trucks traffic management has worked wonders. Increased cargo uptake, reduced jam esp on the airport road, improved cargo transit timings. Now, when is the mega bypass project starting, coz that will be the game changer in this pathetic coastal slum?

Gichiri Ndua the current MD is a genius of sorts how he did it only God knows man has changed Port fortunes. The real game changer shall be when the 2nd container terminal being put up by the Japanese rink 2nd container terminal mombasa gets finished. watu wanafikilia Kefaki alijenga tu Thika Rd. Wapi ile clip ya Ruto getting more funds from Japan?

Rink yaDongo kundu of course we have Franklin Bett and Meshack Kidenda to thank
you mean hata new Nyali Bridge was done by Japanese? Kweli wanapenda Kenya. Na americans british wamejenga nini recently. . . Choices nazo?

There is also a clip of Simba1 and Simba 2 visiting port extension being done by Chinese no wondet wazungu wako na kewaru or is ir kiwalu

There is no word on the bypass project of late. It was to kickstart last year, and I fear kamwana has slowed down baks' pace in development. With the procrastination being witnessed today, well, TZ will give us a powerful lesson soon.

I think following ongoing activities take a bit of time Thank God it is JICA and not World Bank that is undertaking this project... Worlbank takes forever

3.As part of preparatory activities, the original project design is being reviewed by JICA consultant team so as to ensure that fewer people are affected, natural conditions are preserved, better alignments and road reserves are secured for the necessary developments and expansion of the road at present and in the future.

4.The proposed revision of alignment by JICA consultant team has reduced the expected number of affected households from 336 to 83 (20 at Changamwe, 18 at Kinango and 45 at Likoni). The proposed alignment is only tentative â₮“ no final decision has been made yet.

5.Currently, an assessment is being undertaken by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and JICA to determine the extent of re-location and number of Project Affected Persons (PAPs).
... some professional squatters and land speculators...

6.Under the Japanâ₮â„Ēs ODA, the PAPs will be secured in the current status or equivalent status including compensation by the Government of Kenya in line with relevant guidelines on land acquisition and compensation for Public Sector Projects. This undertaking will be secured in the government level agreement.

7.The scope of the Project will include construction of roads, bridges and drainage facilities at selected locations, installation of slope protection works, provision of road safety facilities and other amenities.

....
Kazi inaendelea and trust me Kamwana, Willie and Team are on top of things... the want the Digo and Mijikenda vote in 2017... With Eng kamau at the Helm at the Ministry He would want a legacy better than Thika Rd

As JKIA fire was being put off and Kenyans were ranting about our vulnerability and lack of disaster preparedness, I observed than planes were being diverted to Mombasa, Eldoret and kwa majirani Dar n Entebbe (was surprised Kisumu only handles omena)!

I hope kina @kiash are not reading.

Now the status of Moi International Airport Mombasa is what is worrying me. The encroachment of slums right next to the runway is not only a disaster waiting to happen, it is a security risk! Am not talking Al Shabaab . . .
Imagine how many lives would be lost if a plane skidded off the runway kidogo tu or it missed the runway by a few inches.

Even wazungus landing in this facility i dont know what picture of Kenya they go back with. . .

For those who have not had the luxury of taking of a flight to and fto MIA moMombasa please have a look at the following clips then we petition Uhuruto. Either the airport is relocated ama watu wahame.

LANDING AT MOI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MOMBASA

MIA SLUMS TUPU

Another one for Uhuru how safe is the port of Mombasa? Considering our dependence on this facility and its strategic importance. There is urgent need for security audit and fire / disaster preparedness audit. Kuna business continuity plans

I dint see a slum...just settlements. Anyway maybe security should be increased but back to the ports....it seems the sacking threat really worked, maybe its time such ultimatums are given to other parastatal heads.
