@bangkok,are you not making your hay too early? the market is just waking up. And it is waking up big!

The economy is recovering. World Bank predicts a growth of 3.5% in 2010.
The corporates are returning improved profitability.
Tourism and tea & coffee are booming
The draft constitution has been published, showing signs of political stability in the coming years, hence lowering the perceived political risks
Look across the counters, all the stocks look to be recovering, some slower than others. As a rule the large Caps recover first i.e safricom,EABL,NMG,KCB,your KQ on and on. The mid Caps follow shortly and the small caps will bring in the rear.

This is the time you need to stay invested,or increase your investment in your preferred counters.

You need to pick your counters wisely though,as a good investor should

@bangkok,one more thing ... the stock market is being demutualised, this will boost investor confidence,in addition to the regulations the CMA has already published e.g. financial disclosures,Know your customer, corporate governance of the capital market players etc

@sparkly,

I am not out of the market as yet but what I did was to do away with KQ since I could not find any good reason to justify such a steep increase in prices withinn such a short time save speculation. I may be wrong on this but I have seen such before.

I am now watching NBK which seems to be waking up a deep slumber.

@bangkok - There has to be a buyer & a seller... Not to worry... coz you have your profits locked in no matter what!

KQ was oversold... I have said the NAV is 42 or higher if the hedges go their way & profits are made this year.

I hope KQ can find more planes asap since that is critical to maintaining the growth in Africa. Their main competitor (Ethiopian) is buying planes left & right!!!

Due to lack of mid-size Boeings... Ethiopian is buying A350s... What is KQ doing???

Why December?

And do share with us...

KQ does not release financials for quarter (Oct-Dec)... Next set of financial results will be in 2010...

Because I assume there will be soo much hype in the international media about Sevens,WCup etc etc and the World.....(yes the World) will rush for this stock. Then you can consider exiting depending on your risk apetite....(mine ni kama ya fried fish pale Lwangni Group of hotels).............very high.
