You've never snapped out of this dream? Why do Kenyans like to pretend like this is not the norm? Or would it have been better if the matter was silent? I believe every holiday, the same amount if not more is used. Save that energy for something that would benefit u directly.

@Muchir,
what exactly are you defending? Take a look of yourself infront of a mirror and convince yourself that what you are defending is right.

No spring will happen in this land called Kenya. Am not defending anything but i find it rather useless to keep crying here over spilt milk. If you cant set urself to chonga that bronze statue or print those t-shirts and lessos..let those who can benefit from it. This is money going to circulation either way, ni mkenya tu atafaidi ata kama si mimi.

I dont think we need to compare with any other expenditure, this digital government should do things differently and be seen to be doing so. the celebrations are not a priority in a country so insecure, public healthcare non existent, and so many other pressing issues. This wastage should stop... and it will not stop by us keeping quiet.

In that regard we are lucky otherwise a statue of him lifting a finger would have been more costly.

Uhuru is taking Kenya back to the 1970s and 1980s. And he is only starting.

Actually the statue is of Kibaki lifting the constitution. Something he specifically fought against in 2005. Someone somewhere is intent on re-writing history.

When politicians and other government opponents used to disappear mysteriously and harsh justice was meted out to dissidents. Anyone who opposed corruption was later found dead.

The 1970s and 1980s was also the time when the seeds of corruption and tribalism were planted and nurtured. The seedlings grew and have now overwhelmed the country like weeds.

@alma i salute you. Clearly, "they" have to get a briefing from Itumbi before showing up at wazua. Trouble is, they are pathetic today trying to defend the indefensible.

As a taxpayer paying Itumbi's salary, i am dissappointed by his below par performance.

I thought Alma was joking.

Seems the troupe "works" from 2.
