Only consultation will help...we cant afford bickering 24/7...Lets face it, SUCCESSFUL devolution will be for the benefit of all Kenyans. At that point where service delivery is brought closer to people, it wont matter whether they are 48, 58, or 2...what will matter is that there live has improved for the general Kenyan.

hi ni siasa tu, the politicians hate it when focus is on the service provision and the development agenda - they preffer when the country is always divided along political lines then their shortcomings do not come to the fore.
this devolution crap will be pushed down our throats until the next election then the blame game will kick in, hatred will be preached to us and we will go back to the polls and vote for the incompetent guys again.

the devolution baby is colicky - its expected! its only been 4 months! of course there will be teething issues with implementation. in 15 years we shall have adjusted accordingly to ensure that everyone knows their place! devolution is not going anywhere - its here to stay!

Devolution is good. The approach is bad. We do not have relevant regulatory framework to guide Devolution. This is a 'get quick rich scheme' for governors.

Politicians will always play politics to remain relevant, and since thats what kenyans enjoy most they will create political schemes to keep us entertained - like having a party member appearing to attack the leadership, then all the attention shifts to that particular party.

Our feelings are jolted, and we forget the myriad of issues affecting us - the Opiate of the Masses.

This county system works in lttle Rwanda. The Mayors(governors in our case) are elected by the council like we used to in Kenya. They submit their plans to central govt for approval and allocation of funds.. They are free to source their own funds. Once yearly, they assemble in parliament in the presence of the president to account for the funds and what they have achieved. If county system has worked in Rwanda with inndirect election of mayor, it should work here where we do direct elections.
