and wasteful government expenditure could be back to the levels

Where is this digital government going? Sad

kenyan voters vote based on communities not issues and as long as
tyranny of numbers is there leaders will always come from certain
communities.

Brick wall Brick wall Brick wall Brick wall Brick wall Not talking Not talking Not talking Not talking Not talking

must mcdoba's common denominators post to defend this waste of money for you to believe mawinder?

I like the way they go MIA on hefty taxation, gava excesses in expenditures & wastefulness.

Sometimes govt spending like in this case does actually boost the economy. It will be a good thing for the companies that will win tenders for the supply of various goods and services during the celebrations. Hata sisi when we throw birthday parties, we boost the local businesses eg supermarkets, pubs, butchery etc.

Its quite interesting how the Nation nowadays have an "expose" on the govt almost each sunday....hata si weekday. Might not be anything but just something I've noted, anyway we all have goals and targets. That story has 'disappeared' from their online paper, can't seem to trace it for more details. I'm not trying to defend the govt here just in search of more details on this story. I saw the story this morning on the web but didn't get time to read further, I've not yet been able to get myself gazeti....still nursing a hangover.

I think it would crazy for the govt to spend that kind of money regardless of the occasion, if the story is indeed true. Btw how much did the Jubilee govt spend during their inauguration and also how much did the grand coalition govt spend during the promulgation ceremony of the new constitution?

@Njung'e...What is you take on British and Netherland's governments ban on Miraa? After all these years, is it only the other day that they realized that is is dangerous? Dies this mean anything to the government?

I think before we condemn the govt we should wait for some sort of response on the story, I'm beginning to become a bit skeptical about this "Sunday specials" by NMG. I am really interested to see how this story develops....
