Boss surely can you compare two cars with ten years difference?
Analogue vs digital regardless of the model?
The answer should be obvious.

Carib...

I have a Carib Sprinter 1999 and it is the most reliable car ever made by toyota among the mid level passenger car variety. It has never failed me even when I had doubts. EFT and still does quarter tank from NBI to Nakuru. It is like a Subaru with toyota consumption habits, engages four wheels on demand, power windows and the extras that were not available during its reign in mid level cars.

Why would anyone mention nissan ad van in the same sentence with a Carib?

Later shapes of Carib killed its market but the 1999 shape is still a darling today and the cargo space is superb.

Carib has suspension issues especially the rear wheel suspension mabushes nyingi and spares are expensive and rare 1600cc consumes more than 103 and the boot is small .....so go for the 103 L touring

The spares of a Carib are actually the same as those of toyota sprinter or corolla. A carib becomes a pickup when you fold the back sit and can carry a couple of cement bags and thus requires monroe shocks, not Kaiyaba. Ever wondered why Caribs are popular in Abagusii land? Carib goes where no other car of its size and ground clearance can manage. This is a car that handles all terrain pretty well if you have to go upcountry.

Note; the purpose or use of a car determines what you eventually buy. It makes no sense going rural and mum gives you a sack of beans and potatoes and the car fails to haul the same out of the steep hills of murang'a or kisii or nyeri etc so you tell your wife and kids to walk to the main road as you drive ahead of them.

@Maka Bartum wants to get opinions before making up his mind. Define for him the pros and cons or difference between a Nissan and a Toyota anytime.

tell your brother to import the 2006 nissan ad van, unless the purpose for getting the car is to parade it at the concours.
A 14 year old car is more worn out then a 7 year old one, especially considering these two are cars, which when new were made for similar market segment with roughly the same budget.

Go for advan man. People are slowly shifting to Nissan due to the low prices with similar reliability as Toys. How do you even compare a "brand new" advan to a kenyan used old model carib?? Gikuo na toro.
