Suarez is calling his bluff this time. Says he wants to talk to them.

Napoli to sign Reina and Higuain tonight, thats one of our targets gone. I hope Real Madrid use the money to get Bale because if they lodge a bid for Suarez they'll most definitely get him.

And why would Moyes be chasing Fabregas when Fellaini would provide better anchorage in midfield where we struggled physically... He can fight for aerial balls, Challenge Yaya toure in midfield with tackles, intimidate defenders with physical prowess, score headers and also a couple of goals on both feet..

Me says we are better of with the Afro Boy than Fabregas...

Agreed!100%Applause Applause Applause

If we're looking for creativity, we could have also made a bid for Modric, unless Ancelotti has serious plans for him. The problem with buying a player from Madrid is the astronomical wages, look at Kaka. Only PSG, Monaco and maybe Chelsea and City can afford those wages, and the latter two are moving away from such players. Anyway, I still believe Moyes can get the best out of Kagawa and Cleverley and perhaps even Anderson and Nani!

In the meantime, here's a look at the top signings of Man Utd. Veronica was the worst of the bunch...

Btw Madrid are said to be preparing an 85M pound deal for Bale which is absolutely ridiculous. The most I can buy Bale is 40M, and even that is flattering. Suarez for 40M is a deal, maybe even 50M if he were to wear a mouth guard, 60M hio haiwes...only Messi and Ronaldo can be mentioned in such breath, even The Matador Cavani did not make it to the 60M POUND mark...

Why does Suarez want to kill his footballing career while still very young? Poor boy, poor judgement.

@Taz, you were very confident of the Arsenal Higuain deal but at end of day the guy is gone to Napoli.

@OT still awaits its first signing..... Moyes yawa hata Falleni..

Wenger needed to move fast with this transfer, otherwise the Moyes-factor will influence this deal...

Can Rooney really work with Moyes?? Remember the autobiography incident?

@ King G.....Real Madrid President confirmed that Arsenal had not made any bid for Higuain, they had only agreed personal terms with the player. The Argentine was actually a cheaper option but it seems Wenger is focused on Suarez.

ION L'pool give Suarez permission to hold talks with Arsenal which means this deal could actually happen. Brendan Rodgers has given indication that an improved bid by Arsenal could secure the player. I really praying for this deal to go through because Suarez would be the perfect replacement for RVP.....we might actually win something.

I still think Wenger could have made 2 marquee signings for the 40M+ they're looking to splash out on Suarez e.g. Soldado who's release clause is like 30M Euros would have been lured to CL football as opposed to going to Spurs. Anyway, ukistaajabu ya Musa utaona ya Wenger...

I was very annoyed today when a colleague who supports Chelsea said that he has removed Man Utd out of the Top 3 equation and replaced us with Arsenal!!!WTF??? That's the insult of the year!

For me, Moyes or not, Top 3 remain Top 3, with Goons, Spurs and maybe Liverpool fighting for scraps. The more things change, the more they remain the same. But if Arsenal sign Suarez and he wears a mouth guard for the rest of the campaign, maybe we can start talking

@Smano....Soldado is not exactly a marquee signing, he's a good player but I doubt he would make a big difference in the team.....he's not really better than Giroud plus he's a bit older. He's not in the same class as Suarez, Falcao, Cavani etc

@Taz, I did not say he's the same as Suarez, Falcao or Matador, those are players who are just a shade below Messi and Ronaldo and not many players can be mentioned in the same breath. But to equate Soldado to Giroud is an insult and mockery to the player. Let's see whether your statement will stand after he's possibly signed by Spurs. I rate him as highly as RVP, Aguerro, Rooney (at his best) and such strikers - he's a poacher finisher per excellence, please look at his stats. Anyway, that's neither here no there, point is 40M can get you guys 2 serious players, hio defense yenu si solid! And Liverpool will hold out for 50M which I believe is fair value for the calibre of Suarez. Hio ni dilemma yenu, hata sisi tuko na zetu.

What special qualities does Soldado posses, if he was that good Man city probably would have signed him instead of Negredo, Napoli too would have placed a bid for him. I think hata Barca's Pedro is way better than him. Like I said he's a good striker but not in the same level as those strikers you've listed. I don't think he's an all-round striker or a target man. He might be a fox-in-the-box but he'll probably need more than that to deal with the physical nature of the Premier League. Anyway like you said lets wait and see how he performs at Spurs but I dare say that he'll not be any better than Giroud.

What makes you think the club will not buy any more players if it decides to splash 50m on Suarez? The club is in the market for a defender but I believe he'll be a back up for Kosc, Per and TV5. Last season there was a big improvement on our defense, I think Steve Bould's intervention made the difference. We'll also probably sign an experienced Keeper, Julio Ceasar fits the bill and he'll also come in cheap. Gervinho is expected to sign for Roma which means we'll either sign another winger or use the cash to fund Suarez's bid.

BTW its being reported that Fellaini's £22million release-clause is set to expire at the end of this month so Arsenal and Man Utd have less than a week to decide if they would want to activate it. I think Everton might decide not to sell if no one comes in for him before then.

Soldado is a finisher, plain and simple, and that's what teams that were having problems scoring should be looking for. Since we know Arsenal have never been one to splash money, why not get 2 players for the price of one?Soldado scored 24 goals last season, Arsenal's top scorer was Walcott with 14 league goals. Yes Suarez knows the premier league and is a game changer etc etc but Arsenals transfer policy has been rigid so forgive me if I find the Suarez bid shocking. If you guys can spend 70 - 900M in a transfer window I'll be impressed, it will finally show your intent. But as things stand, hio tutangoja tuone.

For me Fellaini will be a good addition to Man Utd and 22M pounds seems reasonable on face value for a player that can bring so many dimensions to our game. If we were to lose out to on a bid to Arsenal, I'd come to terms with the fact that Moyes really has to prove himself to attract top talent.

This situation with Rooney is surely a dilemma for Utd, as Miguel delaney points out...

@TAZ, do you still believe that Fabregas is not interested in joining United?
