juzi tu people of that persuasion after the court allowed them to add a candidate went to check if some hitherto nondescript young mboy was registered to vote and used some lifts to a certain floor on anniversary towers. while they were in there there was a city-wide blackout - guess what happened? claims of sabotage were angrily thrown all over ! ati people knew they were in the lift and switched off the power to prevent them from achieving their goals.

Haha....and the full "goggles" have now been worn!I think it's time I exit this thread.It will always be a battle with Kenyans however anything is done.The are always conspiracy theories from the time a mzee dies of viagra to the time the daughter didn't register to the time a boy's name is missing on ballots printed abroad.I hope the boy wins though...otherwise...another conspiracy theory!

people need to understand that adding resources into the process will not speed it up - not even the court can speed it up. the best analogy is just because it takes a woman 9 months from conception to give birth to a child - adding 8 more women will not make the baby come out in 1 month.

IMO IEBC should just be open with its activities.A body like that is so sensitive to any negative public perception.

IEBC has done very little to communicate to kenyans or Open their house to scrutiny and offer explanation to their failures.

It does not help the image of the body if every time a scandal emanates from IEBC the ruling party comes to its defense...that in itself raises questions.

Right now no one even knows what IEBC is doing to reform itself....They are always on the defensive.

The attacks on this body if you look critically are all based on IEBC's structural failure.It is as if the Board is clueless on the workings of its executive.

@Selah...good points.
I bet Delarue could do it,but it might not be cheaper.Also, they might not want to be associated with the usual Kenyan politics where people burn companies associated with some people etc.

The "any Kenyan" you've talked about, do you have any example?The truth is that any institute is always seen to be leaning towards a certain side due to the "googles" effect.Individuals will also always be viewed with the same "googles".

Continuous registration...I support.But you would have to pay clerks & setup offices to register people yet only 2-3 people register per day.

IEBC don't need to hire any additional clerks to carry out contiguous registration. I think they have permanent staff in all the constituencies. These are the guys who should do this job.

Err, I think that's why we are paying the MPs to do oversight, no? Attacks on IEBC could be because we have no idea what is happening, not necessarily structural failures. Who knows what is happening at Transitional Authority, yet gavanas are complaining? Who knows what's currently happening at CIC or JSC or any other commission? They all affect us, right?

politics in kenya turns grown ups into emotional paranoid freaks, sycophants who only see things through their political masters perspective without taking time to interrogate the fundamental issues at hand, and thus IEBC is called all manner of names while floating the most ridiculous conspiracy theories.
