Teachers are very powerful in the grassroots and they are the electorate, never forget that.
@Innovateguy, watoto wako bado wako magotini?? If not they must be in a private school somewhere, teachers play a very important role in society, and its for selfish reasons that the government is doing this and mnyonge hana haki, the teachers will invent ways of making money outside the working hours, lack of morale and motivation etc, and we wonder why the illiteracy rates in Kenya are what they are?
Some countries hire the creme as teachers and they are paid very well. I think huku mungu ndio husaidia, it takes a lot of passion for someone who did not do very well in their own exams to produce better grades for the children they teach, they deserve better.
that said the education system in Kenya is totally warped...
